Visitors
My family came to visit 4 days after Carter was born.... Everyone was so excited to come and see him & I was happy to see everyone doing such a good job holding him too! I got out of the hospital Friday May 23 and my family came down that Sunday :) Here are some pictures from our visit!!

About us!
Hello everyone! I started this blog in November 2008, six months after my first (& so far only) son was born, but back-logged the posts so they would be in chronological order! Ever since I started what I like to call this “online baby book” I’ve been addicted! This blog allows me to share our lives with everyone we love, near and far. It also serves as a journal for me, an album, and a way to record my darling son’s most precious memories!
Want to know a little bit about the “blogger”? Well, I am a 24 year old wife and mother! I met my husband back in the fall of 2001 when I was still in high school, 10th grade to be exact! Even though we both knew something was there, we didn’t officially begin dating until the following December. That only lasted about 3 & ½ weeks because I was honestly a little intimidated by him ;) I had never really had a serious boyfriend. Well, months go by and finally we meet again! We Started hanging out through mutual friends and long story short-he ask me to be his girl on April 5th 2003; his 20th birthday! We have been together ever since & I became Mrs. Steinhauser on September 27th 2008… 4 months & 1 week after the birth of our beautiful son Carter James…
Carter was born on Wednesday May 21, 2008 at 5:18pm! He weighed 7 lbs 10.3 oz & 21 inches long. I began the induction process on May 20th at 11pm and after over 12 hours of little to no progress; Dr. Alawode decided the safest option was delivery via C-section. You see, Carter’s heart rate began to drop every time I had a contraction and even though he was already in the birth canal, I was only at 4 cm and not budging! It was a very exhausting day, but when we finally got to hold our baby for the first time-everything else just seemed to fade away! He is our world & the reason for this blog!! We Thank God for him everyday!

May 21, 2008 5:18pm My Angel is Born...
Mother's Heart
"I loved you from the very start, You stole my breath, embraced my heart. Our life together has just begunYou're part of me my little one. As mother with child, each day I grew, My mind was filled with thoughts of you.
I'd daydream of the things we'd share, Like late-night bottles and Teddy bears. Like first steps and skinned knees, Like bedtime stories and ABC's. I thought of things you'd want to know, Like how birds fly and flowers grow.
I thought of lessons I'd need to share, Like standing tall and playing fair. When I first saw your precious face, I prayed your life be touched with grace. I thanked the angels from above, && promised you unending love.
Each night I lay you down to sleep, I gently kiss your head and cheek. I count your little fingers and toes; I memorize your eyes and nose. I linger at your nursery door, Awed each day I love you more.
Through misty eyes, I dim the light, I whisper, "I love you" every night. I loved you from the very start, You stole my breath, embraced my heart. As mother and child our journeys begin,My heart's yours forever little one."

Finally...were on our way :)
This is the last picture of my BIG belly before Carter was born! I didnt think I was supposed to get induced until Thursday May 22nd because Dr. Alawode's office told me the wrong date! The hospital called me on Tuesday night around 8 O'Clock and asked where I was because I was late! I told them about the possible mix up, so they called Dr. Alawode and he said tell her to come in! When they called back and told us to be in by 11pm at the latest, I was truley shocked! I decided to take my time and shower and get ready, this is the picture CJ took while I was doing my makeup ;)
Okay, Im off to have my baby! Ahh I cant believe it, I'm so excited :)
