19 Months Old!!

 

Today Carter is a whole 1 year and 7 months old!! We are more than half way to his 2nd birthday now, isn’t that crazy? I think so! I’m still in denial, lol!

You may be asking yourself… “what does a 19 month old do?” Well, I’ll tell ya!

For starters…he makes a mess at dinner! Please see below….

Haha! He has also become a very picky eater & its a struggle to get him to drink milk these days too! He LOVES to throw food, but hates when he gets his hands all dirty!! He can chew really well and as a matter of fact, he just got his two bottom molars in today! That makes a total of 12 teeth! Now I know why he’s been so grumpy today!

He is sleeping great through the nights again, Thank GOD! I read him stories and say goodnight, then leave. He hardly cries when I leave anymore-which is an awesome feeling :)

He loves to watch Barney & He thinks Dora is cute! He gives her kisses and can say her name! He can also say Barney, but it sounds like “Barmey”!

He loves to sing and can finish some songs! No, I don’t mean singing a verse or anything! I mean, if I sing a verse and skip the last word, he can say it! For example, I will sing “you are my sun ____.” and he will say “shine”! Etc. He also does it with the “Jesus loves me” song, “ABC’s”, and “Row, Row, Row your boat” songs.

We took him to see Santa again this year and it was not the same as last year! This year, Carter was terrified of him! I think most toddlers are though! He is just now getting “scared” of things and sometimes I think it causes him bad dreams! Also at 19 months old he just experienced his first “Blizzard”! He loves the snow and I am hoping we have many more white winter’s so that Carter can enjoy them!

He doesn’t go back to the doctor for a check up and shots until his 2nd birthday, so those stats should be interesting :) The last time we went, he was still only around 24 lbs and 31 & 3/4 inches tall! He is a little guy but the doctor is very pleased with his growth and development!

As for me…well I am NOT liking the fact that my baby is growing so fast! I wish he could just stay little! But, I am happy that he is growing and learning so much everyday! He brings us so much bliss :) I can’t wait to see his face on Christmas morning-which is only 4 DAYS AWAY now!

So that’s what Carter James-19 month old-momma’s boy-daddy’s boy-long hair, don’t care-crazy kid is up to!!

Sunday Snowday

It Finally stopped snowing last night…..& this is what we woke up to!

I think we got almost 24 inches on the ground, but I don’t know for sure! No matter what the “official” amount is, it’s more than we’ve had in years!!

With that said…we got up early & headed out the door! Carter did sleep in this morning until almost 8am!! I know that’s still early to most people, but for me, that’s late! I’m used to this kid waking up at 6:30 even on weekends!

After a yummy breakfast, we headed to my mom’s so that Carter could play in the snow with Mikey, Jenny, & Angel! We also ran to the mall and got Carter a snow suit & snow boots! It was an awesome deal too…24$ at Sears! Its cute : ) The Roads were still kind of bad, but we did see alot of trucks plowing the roads. Anyway, we had such a fun day..here are some pictures..enjoy!

After our fun snow day was over, we snuggled up and watched some T.V together, ate pizza for dinner, and then played in the tub! Carter’s cough sounds alot better and I think his fever is gone now too! He’s been asleep since 8pm and I think he’s pretty worn out from the long day! He only took a 30 min cat-nap today on the ride home.

Hopefully some of the snow sticks around for Christmas :) I still can’t believe we are only 5 days away from the most wonderful time day of the year!!!!!

Catching up and our first ‘big’ blizzard!!

So, I haven’t posted since last Sunday & I feel so “out of the loop” because of it! I hate when I don’t post every other day :( It’s just been a hectic week with Carter being sick and all. So, here’s an update!!

Monday we played outside for a little while! It was a pretty day out & the last sunny day of the week…little did we know a big blizzard was coming-the first one since 1996!!

After playing outside on Monday, we came in and ate dinner! Then we had our nightly routine & everything was great! Tuesday morning Carter woke up with a cough…but I waited to see if it would go away on its own. Well, as I said in the last post..it only got worse and we went to the doctors on Thursday! He is finally starting to feel better now and his cough sounds alot better! Here are some pictures of my sick, but still ohh so sweet boy!

Friday night pop-pop stayed the night and he brought Carter a gift! This dog below :) He sings Christmas music and flaps his ears!! Carter can’t get enough of him! 

  

Well, there you have it! That was our week. As for today..we didn’t take Carter out in the snow to play because we want to make sure he is better first! Plus, it was coming down really hard and I wanted to wait until it stopped snowing so we could actually enjoy playing in it! We did take him for a ride in the truck around the farm to see the snow & he looked so amazed by it! I tried to film it, but as luck would have it the dvd that I thought was blank, was not :( I was so mad!!! I really wanted to capture his first memorable snow on video!! Figures when its too nasty to go out for anything….I run out of something important! grrrr. That’s all I can say!

Tomorrow should be a fun snow-filled day with lots of pictures :) I just looked outside and it doesn’t look like its snowing anymore, so hopefully its done now! No matter how much I love snow, I don’t love SO much that you can’t do anything!! Anyway, tomorrow another day!!!

Feeling yucky!

I wish I had another title for this post, like 'Our week' or something happy, but I dont! Our week has been good so far, up until yesterday that is! Carter has had a cough since Tuesday morning, but I thought I would wait it out a little because it wasn't that bad and he had no other symptoms! Well, yesterday when he got home from daycare, he had 101.6 fever. So, I called the Dr. and they told me to give him Motrin and if his fever came back in the middle of the night after the medicine wore off, bring him in to be seen in the morning. Sure enough, it did! I woke up at 5 am to check on him because I could hear him tossing and turning all around and he had 102.3 temperature. So, I gave him more Motrin and when the Dr.'s office opened, I called them and made an appointment for 9:30am. When we got there, they took us back right away and after doing a throat culture, a finger prick (to check his white blood cell count), and a physical exam, the Dr. determined that he has an Upper Respiratory Infection. She thinks he has a virus too because his white cell count was normal and that usually means virus. She went ahead and perscribed him Amnicef to take twice a day for 10 days. She also said that the fever could last a few more days and to just keep giving him Tylenol and Motrin to keep it down. I have some great pictures from Monday evening playing and some other pictures of my sick (yet happy) boy! I will try to update and post them tomorrow! I hope he is feeling better by tomorrow and I also hope that these sick posts END! It makes me so sad to have to blog about him being sick so much :(
