Today was a very special day. Madisyn Elizabeth Flynn was dedicated in Marbury Baptist Church in front of family and friends!
When we got home after church, I finally got to hold her and Carter did too :) He was so good with her!
I swear he wasn’t being mischievous here, but this smile reminds me of Dennis the Menace!

I am going to attempt to remember everything as best I can so that I can give a good update and catch up on things! When I get so far behind like this, its hard to remember every single thing that's happened.
April Fool's weekend was pretty average. Jimmy was out of town, so we held off on CJ's birthday dinner and just hung out at home. Actually, we never went out to eat for CJ's birthday at all! He insisted that he didn't want to go out to eat and that he was perfectly happy at home, so that’s what we did! Sunday we went to Bryce's 5th birthday party and had a blast! Its hard to believe he is already 5 years old, they grow up so fast!
Monday April 4th, we had our surprise mini shower for Nicki & Jax! She was really surprised and got so many nice things. I think we were all relieved to know that we were able to pull it off and really surprise her! It really did turn out beautifully too :)
Tuesday the 5th was CJ's actual Birthday, but like I said, we just stayed home! The rest of the week went by pretty quick and not much else went on.
Last weekend was again, a pretty average (nothing exciting) type weekend! Sunday CJ had his softball tournament so we went to that. The morning started off pretty chilly, but by lunch time it was warm and the sun was out. Carter had alot of fun running around with Kaiden and Jacob (my friend Jessica's little boy).
Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera for any of this that went on because it was still being repaired. The good news is, I finally got it back last night!!!! We went to Best Buy and the mall to eat and say good bye to Aunt Amanda before she leaves for FL on Thursday. She is going on a friends bachelorette party there. Anyway, I finally have some pictures to post :)

And here I am, a day shy of 23 weeks :) We took a few pictures because Carter didn’t like the first two!
I just have to update on this also… Lately Carter has been so sweet. He kisses my belly and tells me he’s going to feed Callie her bottle when she comes out! He doesn’t call her his ‘brudder’ anymore, so I think its safe to say he has accepted the fact that he’s getting a sister! Oh and by the way, we decided on the name and its going to be Callie Rae !!
CJ actually came up with Callie one morning while we were talking and I just love the way Rae flows with it. Plus, she will have CJ’s initial’s C.R.S, so it has meaning behind it too :)
I had my first appointment at Dr. Ali’s office this morning and it went really good! I left so relieved and I feel great :) Here’s a little run down on my appointment:
After about a 10 minute wait, I got called back!! I know it wont be this fast every time, but this is a good start ;) Then, the nurses weighed me and took my urine. Weight is the same since my appointment last week, 112lbs, so around 8lbs gained.
After about 15 minutes in the back room, Dr. Ali came in. He was very nice and made me feel comfortable right away! He did ask why I left my old OB’s office and I just explained to him the little things here and there that they’d done to make me feel uneasy and he understood completely! I also told him that many of my friends come to him and right away he goes “Well you should have come here in the first place then!” and laughed then said “Well, this is your new home now, we will take care of you!” which I thought was so nice!
After that small talk, he went over all of my information with me. All of my paper work from Dr. Alawodes office and then some additional info for his office. Then, he went over my sonogram with me. He said either the tech or the nurse wrote my due date wrong on the report, but after measuring me and going over my period and my two sonograms, he feels confident with a due date of August 11th 2011. That makes me 21 weeks today instead of 20 weeks and 2 days. So, from now on my weekly updates will be on Thursday’s not Tuesdays :)
We also went over my ‘birth plan’ and he feels that another C-Section is the safest option for me and our baby girl. He said because of how my labor went and the complications that occurred, he felt another cesarean was the best option, so we are looking around the 4th of August for a delivery date, but its not set in stone yet!
Next we went over my sono report. He said that the baby is growing ‘beautifully’ and everything looked just perfect on the sonogram. She is right on target for growth in all areas and there is nothing to worry about! That was so good to hear because I have been worrying and stressing over it since last week. Her heart, brain, kidneys, etc…everything looked great!!
One thing he did notice is that my iron levels are low. So, he has put me on Vitocon (sp) C, a supplement to take additional to my prenatal vitamins once a day! Other than that, everything looked good. The baby’s heart rate was 160 and I was measuring 21 weeks exactly! Before I left the nurses took some blood to check my vitamin D levels and gave me a TB shot.
My next appointment is April 28th and I’ll be 25 weeks :) Thanks again for all you momma’s out there that referred me to him!! Sorry no pictures this week, I still don’t have my camera back yet! I will try and post a belly shot with a cell phone pic later.
Let me see, where do I start?! I feel like there has been so much going on this last week & a half that I don’t know where to begin! I guess I’m having a bit of blog writer’s block, if that makes sense? Okay enough of that, let me just get on with it.
I’ll start off with last weekend. Saturday we went to Ryder’s 2nd Birthday Party and had a blast! Carter kept me pretty busy and I was good and exhausted by the time we left, but over all we had a really good time! I even got my first little girl clothes hand-me-downs from Lindsay! The clothes are adorable and I can’t wait to dress her up in them – thanks again Lindsay!
Moving onto Tuesday (the rest of the weekend was pretty laid back, nothing to blog about!) After our haircut disaster a few months back, I finally made an appointment for Carter to get his haircut. I was referred by Diana to her stylist Lindsey at Studio M Salon. Denise met me there after work, just in case Carter needed to be held down so I wouldn't get kicked in the belly! As it turns out though, he did awesome!!!! He was such a good boy for her and sat so still, I was very proud of him. I will definitely be going back to her as well because she is so good with children! She even let Carter squirt her in the face with her water bottle, so yeah, she’s a keeper ;)
I love his hair cut because it is faded just right and now it can grow out evenly! And Because he was SUCH a good boy, I took him to Target to pick out a ‘prize’! He picked this Nerf Gun…
Tuesday was also my 19 week mark! Or, 19 weeks and 5 days if I go by what the technician told me at our sonogram appointment. I am going to ask Dr. Ali what he thinks when I go this Thursday! And yes, that's right, I finally made the decision to switch OB’s. I was just not happy at Dr. Alawode’s office, for many reasons, so I had to make a change! At my last appointment with them, I did get to hear the heart beat, which was 150, and I had my belly measured, which was measuring at almost 20 weeks! She also weighed me and said I hadn’t gained any weight since the last visit, so I’m still at 8lbs total gained so far. With Carter, at 20 weeks, I had already gained like 20lbs!!!!
This week I’ve also been feeling her (we have yet to decide on a name!) kick ALOT more and they are much stronger kicks too! CJ finally got to feel her kick last night for the first time and hopefully Carter will get to feel it soon as well!
Now onto Thursday…. Carter’s class at the CDC had a lady come in and talk to the kids about dental hygiene and each of them got a take home packet of goodies! Immediately when Carter got home he wanted to brush his teeth with his new toothbrush and use his new floss! Let me just tell you, this kid loves to floss already!
Now I think I am finally caught up to this weekend! Yesterday was a busy Saturday. It started off with Carter going to BJ’s with Grammy while CJ and I headed to Waldorf. I had plans to meet Olivia for lunch at Red Robin and then we had some running around to do! CJ went to look at some furniture stores and shop prices while I was at lunch and then after I was done, he picked me up and we went over to Best Buy! Unfortunately, my camera flash stopped working right after I took the pictures above with Carter holding his new goody bag from school. Luckily, I have a warranty on it and it will be fixed for free. The sad part about it is that I wont have it back until April 7th :( I don't know what I am going to do without my camera until then because I don't have a back up, but I will have to manage!
After we left Best Buy, off to Showman’s Furniture we went to look at beds for Carter. Showman’s is the only local place where we’ve really liked the prices and the quality! It took us a while to decide, but we ended up getting Carter the same bed that Ryder has at his Ya-Ya’s house & a baseball chair with a foot rest. We also got ourselves a new bedroom set!! CJ and I have been long overdue for some new furniture in our room, so I am really excited for everything to be delivered and set up in 2 weeks!!
With all the running around yesterday, today we just took to chill out at home. We woke up to snow on the ground and played in it for a while…. now we are just baking brownies and watching TV. I hope to be able to update with cell phone pictures and video’s until I get my camera back.. so bare with me for the next couple weeks!

I think we are all still in shock that it is actually a girl! Even though I kept saying that’s what I thought, I don't think I really expected it to actually happen :) I am MORE than excited and happy and so is everyone else in the house!

Carter came with CJ and I to find out the big news and I have to say, he was an ANGEL the whole time! He sat quietly while the tech examined each part of the baby. He kept asking “why she put jelly on ur belly?!” and “Can we go home now?" but over all was a very patient little guy!
The tech looked at every part of her (Brain, heart, legs, kidney’s, etc) and everything looked perfect and right on target for growth! She told me her weight, but I think I was so wrapped up in the fact that it was a girl that I can’t remember now :) She did tell me that I was measuring 19weeks 1 day, not 18 weeks 3 days like I thought I was. So, I guess the doctor will determine whether or not we move my due date up or not on Wednesday when I go. The tech gave me a date of August 11th, so 5 days earlier than my original due date.
So, we are officially having a sweet baby girl! It is so exciting and I can’t wait to meet her!!
The last time Madisyn came to visit, she was only a little over a week old! So, needless to say, everyone was pretty excited to see her on Tuesday when her and Michele came down! After all, its been a whole 3 months since we last saw her and we all know how much babies change in a short amount of time :)
Let me just say, this baby girl is so adorable! She loves to be walked around where she can see everything. Her little legs are very strong, standing straight and tall! And, she was all smiles for the most part. Carter didn’t really know how to act around her and I noticed him trying to show off a lot. Probably because everyone was making over Maddy and not him like usual! I guess it was a little preview for me as to what to expect when our new baby comes ;)

Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of Carter and Maddy together! He was non stop the whole time so I didn't even try to get him and her together. Hopefully next time!
PS. I know I haven’t blogged this week with a belly shot or 18 week post, but tomorrow is the BIG DAY when we find out the sex! So, I figure I’ll just do my 18 week along with the big announcement tomorrow night! So far, everyone in this house now thinks I am having a boy, except me!!!! I thought Denise was on my side, but she jumped ships this afternoon, ha-ha! In less then 24 hours we’ll see who is right…. ahhhh I am so excited!! I hope I can sleep tonight ;)
I’m not going to write much in this post because I am ready for bed, ha! However, I did want to announce that I finally felt the baby move this week!!!!! I thought I may have felt a little flutter last week, but still wasn’t sure. Well, this week I am 100% sure I felt the baby :) And, now that I know for sure that’s what it is, I feel it off and on all day long – its amazing! Other than that, not much going on…except, only 8 more days till we find out if its a HE or a SHE!!!!!!
