Happy 3rd Birthday Carter!! (Part 1)

Yesterday CJ and I headed over to the CDC for a parent/teacher meeting and also to bring Carter’s class cupcakes for his birthday! When we got there all the children were still napping, so we used that time to meet with his teacher. She went over his accomplishments and milestones with us and overall is very impressed with his development. She said that he is excelling in all areas and although he is not fully potty trained yet, she feels he is ready for to move into the pre-school classroom. His transition will start next week! Hopefully it goes smoothly!

After the meeting, we came back to the class and woke the children up…but not before snapping a few pictures! I had to get a picture of Carter napping because he NEVER naps at home anymore and he just looked so sweet.

After waking up, he washed his hands all by himself so that he could show me how well he does it on his own! Then it was cupcake time….

Now, right after I took this picture, Carter said he just wanted to wait until we got home to eat his cupcake. He didn't wake up in the best mood. So, we told everyone bye and headed out the door :)

Now onto this morning (Carter’s actual Birthday!) We woke up bright and early and he opened gifts from Grammy & us!

     

We spent the majority of our day outside playing while Daddy and Grandad worked on the swings and the yard. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had fun just enjoying it together and getting ready for the party!

Happy 3rd Birthday big boy! Mommy & Daddy love you SO much! You have really grown into such an independent, spunky, fearless, kid! You love to be outdoors and are always imagining new adventures for mommy and you to go on. Whether it be walking (looking for bad guys) or going “huntin!” we always have a fun time together. You also have a sweet side though and kiss my mommy’s belly all the time. I know you will be a good big brother and protect your little sis Callie. This week you will be moving up into the preschool classroom at daycare and I just know you will excel in there just as you’ve done in the Toddler Room. You are very smart!!

I could go on and on about you all day, but what I am really trying to say is we are SO very proud of you and so blessed to have you as our son! Happy Birthday buddy, we love you!

A Sweet Surprise!

Today I was surprised with a small shower/lunch by my mom, sister’s, and friends :) I thought I was going to Red Robin for a late Mother’s Day lunch, but when I walked in I was shocked to see a table full of my high school friends, a cake, gifts, and balloons!

The name was spelled wrong, but it was SO good! They got it from Cold Stone :)

It was such a sweet surprise! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family and great friends to do this for me! Thanks again everyone!    

PS. Carter and CJ were in on this surprise so they went and hung out while I was at lunch! Such sweet boys!!

Owen’s Birthday Party

 Today we went to Owen’s 2nd Birthday Party and had a blast! We rode with Brandy & Ryder (which Carter loves because they have DVD player’s in the head rests!) and also because he gets to hang with his “best buddy!”! Both boys were excellent the entire ride up, at the party, and back. The rain actually held off too, which was a big relief, and the party was perfect :) Thanks for inviting us Jelena and Happy Birthday again Owen!

A big surprise at the party was that Elmo himself showed up! All of the kids were a little weary of him at first, but Carter and Ryder weren’t scared one bit! Carter even took a picture with Elmo…Jelena posted it on her blog, and he even said “Hey mommy, Elmo’s gotta big costume on!” HA! This kid is too smart ;)

27 Weeks!

 

Gosh do I feel extra big this week! And I’ve finally started to get the comments from people “So when are you due?” and then after I respond they say, “I gosh, do you think you’ll make it till then?” I just smile and say “I hope so!” But what I’d really like to say is “SHUTTTT UP!!!!” I mean really, come on people….do you think a pregnant woman wants to be reminded just how big she looks?? I think its safe to say that most of us do not! I guess its just all part of being pregnant… you have to deal with peoples comments. opinions, random belly touching, etc. LOL

Anyway, onto the important stuff! I’m finally in the 3rd Trimester, ohhh yea! Gosh does it feel good to finally say that. This week I’ve been having more trouble staying asleep at night. I wake up a lot and rolling over has become a chore. My allergies have also been pretty bad so I finally called the doctor and he said I could take Claritin, so I started that a few days ago…hopefully it helps! Other than that, I'm feeling okay! Just anxious for my appointment next week because I have to take the Glucose Test!

Brandy’s Shower!!

Tonight after work, all us ladies got together for a dinner/shower at Ouzo’s for Brandy & Maisy! It turned out great and almost everyone was able to make it. The food was SO good, the pizza and appetizer's… mmmm!!  I actually forgot just how much I love their food!

And I have to say thanks to Nicki, Lindsay, and Kristen for all the help and decorations they contributed. We were all able to work together to pull this off and I couldn't have done it without them :)

Mother’s Day 2011

I had another great Mother’s Day this year and I am so thankful for the amazing people in my life. CJ and Carter definitely pampered me and made my day extra special! I even got to spend some time with my sister at a friends Bridal Shower, which was nice since we don't get time together that often with our busy schedules. My beautiful mom baked me a Mother’s Day cake and even though we didn't get to do lunch like we had planned, we are going to make up for it this upcoming Sunday :) Overall, it was a busy, but wonderful day!

Yay for May!

Wow, I can’t believe its May already! Spring is in full swing and the weather has been just perfect most days! With that said, most of our days are spent playing outside after work and on weekends. We have to take advantage of this great weather because before we know it, we’ll all be sweating bullets in the 90-100’s of summer!

 

 

 Since Easter we’ve just been up to the same old stuff. Carter is becoming more and more excited about his upcoming birthday! He knows he is turning “free” and holds up three fingers every time you ask him how old he’ll be.

 He loves to ‘work’ and often tells me as soon as he gets home from daycare that “I been workin’ all day!” He’s obsessed with guns, swords, and G.I Joe or “Army” movies as he calls them! Outside is still his favorite place to be, besides Target looking for toys ;) And every night before bed when he says his prayers he always says “I wanna bless Mikey & Jenny!” along with everyone else in our big family! But, he just loves his uncles and aunts…they’re more like best buddies!!

And being the little man of the house already, cutting the grass!  He is still very much a momma’s boy for many things, but he is also such a Daddy’s boy. He tries to do whatever his dad is doing and really looks up to him. His eyes light up everyday when CJ gets home from work and watching that brings such happiness to my heart. I Can’t believe my baby has turned into such a big boy who is turning three at the end of this month! He makes me so proud everyday and I know he will be the best big brother to his sister in the world.

Carter’s class in daycare has been growing this grass ( I’m pretty sure that’s what it is anyway lol) for a while now. They water they’re grass everyday and today, they finally got to bring their little cups home! I love seeing the art work he brings home or the projects they have going on. They are always working on something or learning new things! It makes me feel so blessed that we got him into such a good place where his teachers are so good to him and he truly loves to go everyday :)

25 Week Dr. Appointment

 

I am 25 weeks today, whoo hoo! ; )

Calllie:

• Weighs about 1 1/2 pounds and is 13 1/2 inches long.
• Is growing more hair, with a distinctive color and texture and everything.

Me:

• Have a uterus the size of a soccer ball.
• Have probably noticed a decent increase in your belly size over the past few weeks — your fundal measurements (the length between your pubic bone and the top of your uterus) grew about an inch-and-a-half in the past four weeks alone.
• May start experiencing uterine contractions soon, if you haven’t already.

This week I’ve been feeling Callie kick ALOT! Her kicks are getting so strong now and she will kick and kick, and kick for what seems like all day! I’m glad she is so active though, it gives me peace of mind! CJ loves it too because he gets to feel her all the time now. I also finally got Carter to feel her kicking the other night. I knew he felt it too because as soon as she did it, he looked at me and smiled :) I can’t wait until they can finally meet!

As for any other pregnancy symptoms, they’ve really been pretty ‘by the book’. I’ve had heartburn, but not too bad and nothing Tums wont fix! I’ve been craving a lot of McDonalds lately – Filet o’ fish sandwich’s to be exact! Bad, I know! The good part is that I haven’t fulfilled that craving too much, just here and there. I definitely feel like my appetite has picked up more now though.

I’ve still been having Braxton Hicks contractions through out the day, but nothing out of the norm! As for my energy, as long as I'm up and walking around or doing something, I’m good to go! At work sitting at my desk is when I feel like I could just fall asleep, I get so tired there! Also at night, I’m usually ready for bed pretty early.

Okay now onto my doctor’s appointment:

Today went really good. My blood pressure was 110 over 60, so its low, but nothing concerning. I’ve always had low blood pressure actually. My weight has jumped since my last check up…I’ve gained 8 lbs since my last visit putting me at a total gain of 16 so far, I think! The baby’s heart rate was good and strong and my belly was measuring right on target! Doctor Ali did tell me to get over the counter vitamin D pills to start taking once a day. Maybe once I start taking them regularly my energy will pick up some, since vitamin d deficiency is known to cause fatigue! Other than that, he wants to see me back in 3 weeks on May 19th and I will do my glucose test then :)
