Breakfast with Santa

Today we woke up early and went to Marbury Baptist to eat a good breakfast and see Santa! The food was delicious as always & Carter had a lot of fun running around the church hall. We were able to get there in time to see Santa come in on the fire truck, but Carter wanted no parts of sitting on his lap! I had a feeling he would be scared of him though. I’ve heard that many kids are afraid of Santa when they’re little! Alot of our friends were there too; Karen & Makenzie, Mandi & Bailey, Shawn & Braylon, & Jaime & her nephew! I love seeing the little interact with eachother : ) We got some good pictures together so even though we didn’t get a good shot of Carter on Santa’s lap, I’m still happy with the photo’s I got!! I would have like to get some pictures of the children together, but it is so hard to get them to all stand still for a shot! Maybe when their a little older!!

After we left the church, we headed over to the Health Department to get Carter’s 2nd dose of the H1N1 shot! I was preparing myself for a LONG wait, but when we got there was no one there! And on top of that-all three of us were able to get the vaccine! Carter got his second & final dose & CJ & I both got our 1st and only dose. I believe the nurse said that people age 10 & over only need 1 dose, people younger than 10 need two!! So, we’re all covered ; ) We are a little sore where the shot was given, but no other side effects besides that-YET! & hopefully there won’t be any!!

So, Here are some bath-time photo’s and updates! I feel like I’ve been leaving stuff out of my posts lately! I don’t know what’s up with that…

So, what has Mr. Carter been up to these days? Hmm..let’s see;

First off, he’s sleeping like an angel :) Second, he has become very independent and can express his feelings/wants more clearly everyday!! For example, when he wants something to eat or drink, he knows exactly where to go and says “dink pweese” or “mommy pweese”! He can watch Barney for almost 10 minutes without getting bored! I swear sometimes I have heard him say “I wanna watch barney” but that might just be me! It really sounds like that’s what he’s saying though ; ) Recently, we also taught him who Santa was and when you ask him what Santa says, he says “Ho, Ho, Ho!” He just amazes me everyday with all the things he says and does!

Sunday at Debbie & Earls

I am posting this a couple days late, bad blogger!! I hate it when I don’t update ‘on time’ but these days its hard sometimes ;) We haven’t been doing much since Sunday..just hanging out at home. I did forget to mention something over the weekend and I don’t know how this slipped my mind honestly! But, we took Carter off bottles-completely!!!! That’s huge news & I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about it! Again-bad blogger! Towards the end of last week I gradually stopped giving Carter a night time bottle and I stopped giving him a morning bottle so by the weekend he was totally off of them! I am very happy that we accomplished this because at 18 months old, he doesn’t need them anymore! And so far, he’s doing great with out them! He uses a sippy cup to drink his milk now and even though he hated drinking milk out of sippy cups before, he has grown to like it :)

Anyway, here are some pictures from Sunday. We originally thought we were going to Texas Roadhouse for lunch, but instead had everyone over their house and cooked a yummy lunch for Carson’s 79th birthday! We had cake too, which was delicious, and hung out with all of our loved ones ;)

   

Carter was a little intimidated by Jake because he wouldn’t stop licking him, but I don’t blame him…afterall, he is very sweet!

Friday & Saturday

I feel like jumping up and down & screaming at the top of my lungs Halleluja!! lol, wanna know why?? ahem, well its because we are sleeping again! I never thought in my wildest dreams that it would only take 4 days to get this little guy to sleep in his crib, but it’s true! Four days is all it took for this child of mine (in all of his stubborn, hot headed ways!) to sleep in his crib all night long! I am still pinching myself : ) its great! Last night was perfect in every way. I kissed him good night and as I walked out I held my breath for that cry “mommy, mommy!” but nope, not one peep! So I crept back in to catch a peek & to my surprise, he was all snuggled up with his blanket and his dog falling asleep! That was a good feeling. Now I know that we did the right thing and I couldn’t be more happy!

Okay-on to other weekend news….well. um. There isn’t any! We haven’t done anything really! Today Carter was happy and playful. At nap time (noon) CJ & I headed out in the snow to check out that Cash for Gold place, but we weren’t impressed. Then we went and got Carter a pair of Tim’s (daddy’s favorite boots!) for Christmas! I can’t wait to dress him up in them! Then we came home and we’ve been relaxing ever since. Carter went to bed at 7:30 tonight and now I am writing this before I go watch some TV with my hubby. Tomorrow we are going to church and then out to lunch at Texas Roadhouse for Uncle Carson’s birthday :) Hopefully the weather is better tomorrow! Getting longer ;)

Okay now this is weird! This afternoon Carter was eating a slice of pizza and mommy was eating Nutella with apples (for those of you who don’t know what that is, its a scrumptous chocolaty spread..you have to try it! I usually eat it with toast, but got curious today and tried apples-ehh better with toast!) anyway, this kid starts dipping his pizza in the nutella spread and eating it! I was worried because its made with hazelnuts and everything I’ve read says to wait until your child is at least 2 before giving them peanuts or any nuts at all! However, he is very fast and it was too late. Plus, on Halloween he grabbed a peanut butter cookie and started eating it before I could stop him, but he didn’t have any reaction! So I wasn’t that worried about him trying it and thus far, no reaction from it. I just couldn’t believe he ate it, it was gross and funny at the same time, but he seemed to love it!

   

Okay, I’m really done for now-until tomorrow that is! Goodnite!

SUCCESS!

As I mentioned in my Monday evening post, we started a new plan to get Carter back to sleep! Well, it wasn't easy at first, but I think it's finally starting to work! Here is the re-cap of our week.



Monday night - Cried for 25 minutes, then went to sleep. Woke up at 11:20 am and cried for 10 minutes, but then went back to sleep and slept all night.

Tuesday - Cried for 30 minutes, then went to sleep. Woke up at 1:48 am and cried for 15 minutes, then went back to sleep & slept the rest of the night.

Wednesday - Cried for 10 minutes, then went to sleep. Woke up at midnight for a couple minutes (maybe 2!) and then went back to sleep :)

Thursday - Did not cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! & slept all night!!!!! I am ECSTATIC : )

Hopefully this becomes more and more familiar to him and he understands that bedtime is not a bad thing. I think he is getting it now, lets just hope it stays this way!
