Under The Weather
As for our weekend, well, that was spent at home for the most part. Carter ended up spiking a fever Friday night and it stayed with him pretty much all weekend. We ended up taking him to Patient First yesterday because for 1, daycare requires a note before the child can come back...and 2, I am pretty low on leave at work and decided "why wait?" might as well find out what he has now rather than later. Well, I was not happy with how the Dr. examined him at all. He checked his ears, and listened to his breathing and then said "oh, he is fine..I think its just a cold." He wrote him a note for daycare and cleared him to go back today! I wasn't going to send him, but his fever never came back. I did call the CDC and told his teacher to please keep an extra close watch on him today and if his fever returns, please contact me right away! Hopefully it does not. I feel so dumb for not speaking up to that Dr. and telling him check his throat. Urghh! At least do a Strep Test and rule that out, I mean, that seems like common sense!!! I can't beat myself up over it though. He is going to the ENT tomorrow, so that makes me feel better knowing he will be checked again.
As for any new updates in Carter world? Friday I went to pick him up from daycare so that I could meet his teacher and see his new class room. He has officially moved up to the 'Toddler' room. No more 'Pre Toddler'!! His new teacher is actually an old friend because she used to be CJ & Jimmy's teacher, isn't that crazy? She has been there a long time. Carter showed me around his new room and then it was time to go home. Before we walked out he yelled "hab a nice weekend" to his teachers, which almost died laughing, and off we went!! He surprises me all the time with the things he says and does. Another thing he has started these last few days, calling me 'Mom'. He will say "Hi Mom" when he gets home from daycare sometimes. Or, he will say "Tank you, Mom" when I give him something like a treat or a toy. He still calls me "Mommy" for the most part, but I think he sounds so grown up calling me MOM already. I need to get it on video ;)
Other than that, nothing else at the moment! Hopefully this work day flies by and tonight I get some time to sit down and post some stuff.

BUSY BEE’S …
That’s what I feel like we’ve (well, mostly me lol) been this past week and a half! The week after Memorial Day weekend I was so busy running around before Tara’s wedding that I didn’t take one single picture! Then the weekend came and it was rehearsal dinner & wedding day so we were even MORE busy! The wedding turned out beautiful and I am so grateful that she chose me to be a bridesmaid :)
Sunday we went over to Gary & Angel Grant’s to swim with Adriana :) By the time we got home later that day, we were just plain worn out from the weekend and went to bed early-that’s why I didn’t blog! Then, yesterday we were invited by Steven to the National’s Game and didn’t get home until almost midnight! Today I was very tired at work and still am, but it was SO worth it because Strasburg was awesome and the Nat’s won!!! The stadium was packed, the weather was beautiful, and it was just an all-around good crowd that came out :) I am definitely impressed with the team and hope we can go to more games in the future!
Swimming before the storm on Sunday!! We couldn’t swim long, but Gary & Ryan got crabs so we didn’t care. They were so good too :)
CJ & I at the National’s game :)
Steven & his friend Rachel! Steven, thanks again for inviting us :) We had a really good time!!
One more thing.
This video is from tonight ;) We read stories every night before bed and one of his favorite books is Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes! Watch….
The boy knows his songs and rhymes, that’s for sure! So sweet :) My baby is growing up!

Memorial Day Weekend
Well, even though we were kinda busy most of the weekend, it was still nice having 3 whole days off!! Here is a re-cap for ya…
Friday we relaxed at home, which was nice because I was tired!!!
Saturday morning we woke up and went decided to try out one of Carter’s new birthday presents!! The three of us got a kick outta this thing…thanks again Nicki, Mikayla, & Matteson :)
Playing with his new truck…
Later that afternoon, we stopped by Kamrie’s birthday party & saw some friends :)
Ryder playing on the slip n slide
Carter had a turn on the pinata…he didn’t break it, but he gave it a good shot!
After the party, we went over to my parents house for dinner. My mom cooked me a yummy birthday dinner & it was fun watching the kids play together and just spending quality family time together! One thing though, I didn’t take one single picture while we were there :/
Sunday morning Carter actually let us sleep in till 8 am!!! I was REALLY happy about that, its been forever since he’s slept in that late so it was nice. After breakfast, we went outside to try out his new pool! It was pretty hot outside by 10 am so even though the water was a little chilly, it felt good!!!
He loves his new pool and we do too!! Its the perfect size for him and the slide makes it extra fun.
Okay, now here is a video of Carter dancing….before you play it, please excuse the lyrics lol! I guess CJ didn’t realize before playing the CD that it wasn’t really “appropriate” for children!! However, it is too funny not to put up!!
Later on that afternoon, CJ & I headed over to Gilligans for a bit. Let me just say that it was HOT and crowded there. We had to ride the “bus” to get there because there was no parking! We didn’t stay very long and just went home because we were both very hot and tired.
Yesterday, We played outside and went to Target and Food Lion for some things. I didn’t take any pictures yesterday either! That was pretty much it for yesterday, nothing too exciting!
All in all, it was a really good weekend! We got to relax some, hang out with good friends, and most important…spend family time together :) Nothing’s better than that!!

Carter’s 2nd Birthday Party
Carter’s party was a total success! Besides the fact that it was supposed to rain all day and we had to move the party inside, everything came together perfectly (with lots of help from our family, that is!) It didn’t even end up raining after all so the kids got to play outside and enjoy the weather. Almost everyone came and Carter had so much fun playing with all the children.
Thank you Denise & Carl for hosting such a wonderful party, it really couldn’t have been done with out you guys! I also want to say thanks to everyone who came out, you made his day so special! And for those who couldn’t make it-we missed you : )
The morning of the party we cleaned and set up everything. Carter took his nap around noon and woke up about 30 minutes before 2pm so he was well rested by party time. CJ asked him “Are you ready to party?” and Carter goes “I ready for party, yay!” Ha, it was the cutest thing! He usually wakes up grouchy so I was happy he woke up so excited.
Here are some pictures of the decorations:
The Cakes ;) made by Denise
The decor

Like I said…once Carter woke up, it was party time! Lets get onto the pictures :)
The first gift, he saw it right away & LOVED it!

Cake time!!
Carter was yelling “Gammy, huyee up!”
Look at that mean little face lol
A little scared at first
All smiles while we sang Happy Birthday!
Ready to open gifts after the cake (which he didn’t eat!) I guess it was all the excitement because nearly every mom at the party said the same thing “I can’t get him/her to eat anything!” They were all having too much fun I guess. Thanks again everyone for all the amazing gifts, also! Carter loves them all, they are all so nice :)
After gift opening, it was back outside to play some more! It was really the best party I could’ve hoped for! I know Carter had a great time, we all did :) I still can’t believe its over already, gosh! I don’t even want to think about the # 3, oh my goodness..
