March of Dimes Walk 2010

This is my only photo from the walk on Sunday because I left my camera in the truck like a dummy!  I didn’t end up bring Carter like I had originally planned to because the Weather Channel was calling for a cold, rainy morning. Well, it really wasn’t that cold-just muggy. AND, it did not rain! Go figure!!! Actually, the day ended up being pretty nice…sunny skies, light winds, and 70’s.

The walk was good :) We ended up getting there a little late, but we got there! They cut 3 miles off the walk I guess because of the weather forecast so it felt like we started and finished pretty fast to me! Anyway, I’m so happy I got to be a part of it. There are so many babies born every year premature and this cause is a great way to raise awareness and funds for research!!

Lunch with Brandy & Ryder

I had to go into work for a few hours this morning to make up time, which I rather NOT have to do, but it was only 4 hours and went by quick. After that, Carter & I met Brandy & Ryder for lunch at Pizza Hut. Ryder was SO excited to eat his meal…..it was adorable to watch/hear him talk in person!! Carter was being really picky until the very end when he finally started to munch on bread sticks.

After lunch we went to 2 different places in VA to try and cut Carter’s hair and both places didn’t have any openings that morning. I decided to scratch that idea and wait until another day. We came home and played outside, ate dinner, and then watched TV before bed at 8:30pm.

Our busy week!!

Wow, I just realized that these pictures start from 1 week ago today!! Sheesh….you KNOW I’ve been busy if I waited this long to post them! However, I think Mandi said it best in her “busy week” post when she talked about being exhausted this week. Toddler’s don’t leave room for “Me” time!! HA! Its true though. By the time I get Carter in bed, I am ready for bed myself! So, I guess its been a combination of business & laziness this week ;)

Also this week, Carter got sick Weds. around 2:30 am. He threw up in his crib and then threw up 2 more times after that. I waited until today to take him to the doctor because I thought it was just a stomach bug that had to run its course, well, it’s a sinus infection… BUT we got him on medicine now so it’s getting better! The Dr. said the throwing up was from all the mucus drainage, eww! Next goal, teach him how to blow his nose, ha!!!

Saturday after our photo shoot, we stopped by Gilligan’s for lunch. Carter ate Crab for the first time on this day!!!

Sunday night, eating salad for dinner. Something his daddy would NEVER eat! I’m working on that though ;)

Now that brings us to today, finally!! Being all quiet in his room and this is what I find…

He likes to climb on things now!! Luckily this step stool is low to the ground, but I have to watch him every second because he is quick and fearless!!!

Twenty Three

My Little boy turned 23 months old yesterday!! This picture was taken this afternoon after our doctor appointment this morning. That’s right, I had to take him back to the doctor…the kid can’t catch a break :( That’s daycare for you I guess!! After being checked out today, the Dr. said she thinks Carter has a sinus infection. She wrote him a prescription for Azithromicen so hopefully he’s back to his old self in no time!

(Please excuse the pizza face!) 

So, what’s new with this 23 month old you might ask?! For starters he’s almost 25 lbs now. He is almost in a size 7 shoe. Next month he goes for his 2 yr old shots so I will get his exact stats then (height, percentiles, etc!) In my opinion he’s grown immensely in height though ;) He wears mainly 24 month (2T) clothing now. Alot depends on the brand though. He is STILL teething!!! The canines that I thought would’ve poked through by now are still right under the surface. Until then, he’s still workin’ with 12 teeth!

His hair ( I think, LOL) has lightened up quiet a bit. I think it looks more light brown/blonde-ish now, however, I still hear all the time “where did that boy get that red hair?” Its very long now too. This July will be 1 full year since his first hair cut. I think we are going to try again very soon, but we’ll see how that goes. You can never tell with him, ha!!

His favorite show is still Barney. I was hoping he would’ve grown out of it by his birthday, but I doubt that will happen. He loves shows where there’s alot of singing. I don’t think he’s old enough yet to grasp the concept of cartoons like, Spongebob or Bob the Builder, etc. Hopefully he’ll start to like those more soon. I’m sorry, but Barney just drives me crazy sometimes lol!!

He’s at the age where he has started to ask for things he sees on TV (toys, candy, etc!). I keep telling him his birthday is coming up and he will get lots of presents :) He just laughs when I tell him that! He is so smart. He is saying more 4 word sentences now too. For example, today he told me “shut the door please!” Then, we were playing with his T-Ball set and he said “Hey mommy, watch this!” and jumped up to show me how high he could jump. I love this age because him and I have conversations now. If he doesn’t like a song that comes on the radio, he’ll tell me to turn it off!!! Or tell me to roll down the window, haha!! The other day we drove by Angel’s house (Alan’s cousin) and he said “Angel’s house” and pointed at it. Now, every time we pass it, that's what he says! He remembers things so well!

He is just growing so quick. Sometimes I look through our albums at his baby pictures and get all teary-eyed because of how fast he’s growing up. That’s why I’m so glad I started this blog because it really is priceless to have all of these memories recorded! I know, I’m getting all sappy LOL, but I know all you mommies out there feel the same way!!

Anyway, Happy 23 month birthday little guy! 1 more month until your 2 years old : ) AHHH! So exciting!!! We love you SO much.

Spring Photo shoot!!

Saturday morning we met Mandi at Smallwood State Park to take some Spring Family Portraits! Let me just say, Thank you SOO much for taking the time to do these for us. We love them all :) You really need to start your own business girl!
