Update

Its been a rough weekend...to say the least! Friday, we kept Carter home from daycare to get over-what we thought was a reaction from his shots. Well, he had a stubborn fever ALL day & even though he was on Motrin & Tylenol every 4 hours, the fever stayed around 102. So, that told me that it was something more than just a reaction & pink eye because of how hot he was! Long story short, his doctor appointment was for 3:00pm on Friday....we get there & they take his temperature right away & it was 103.6! So they undress him and put luke-warm towels on him, 15 min go by....they take his temp again-104.1! At this point, I was freaking out! I was trying to stay calm and just do what they told me too, but it was very hard! Finally...his fever started to come back down & they took blood and checked him out! Blood count was better, but when she saw his throat-right away she said he had Tonsilitus! He also had the beginings of an ear infection! My poor baby!
I was shocked, but she said that alot of children get it & it is notorious for causing high fevers! Anyway, they sent us home with an antibiotic and said it would more than likely be a rough weekend, but he will be fine! They werent lying either, it hasnt been easy this weekend. But, the good news is, he woke up this morning with no fever and actually had an apetite!! Thank God! I dont have any pictures right now, but here is another video of him walking :) I just think he is SO cute when he walks all around!!

Not feeling so good!!

If there is one thing I hate, its seeing my baby sick! At his age they are so helpless & small! They cant tell you what hurts & what doesnt. Well, exactly 7 days after getting his MMR & Chicken Pox vaccine, Carter came home from daycare today with a 102.6 fever. I called the doctor right away just to run it by them & they suggested that we bring him in, just to rule out a virus or infection. They took his temperature when we got there and it was down to 101, so they gave him some Motrin to help it go down more. They did a throat culture-That came back negative! They checked his ears-Both looked good! They checked his breathing-Perfect! Then they checked his blood- His white blood cell count was a little elevated, which indicates either a virus or an infection of some sort. Then they checked his eyes-not so good. Pink Eye in BOTH eyes :( poor guy!! The doctor said that Pink Eye can cause a fever and a stuffy nose sometimes ( I have never heard that before, but hes the doctor i guess) Anyway, so his fever could be from that & the shots! A double whammy to say the least! They want to see him again tomorrow to re-check his white blood cell count and make sure it isnt higher, it should be going down! Hopefully everything looks good tomorrow and his fever starts going away!!
Here he is sleeping tonight

sweet dreams

before bed i re-checked his temperature and it was 99.7 so thats alot better!! hopefully it stays down! He is due for Motrin around 11:30 tonite!

Good night everyone :)
Wish Carter luck at the Doctor tomorrow!!

A new place

As you all know, Carter has been "tansitioning" into the Pre-Toddler room for about 2 weeks now. Well, yesterday was his first full day in his new class! From now on, this is where he will be! Every morning when grammy drops him off (he is usually 1 of the 1st ones there) He will start off in the infant room until the rest of the teachers & kids come. Then, he will go to his new room and thats where he will stay until he gets picked up! This room is great. It has lots of neat toys for him to play with & now that he is older he gets to do alot more stuff, like go outside on the playground :) He also has set nap times, snack times, & activities! He has really learned alot since he has been here & I know he will learn much much more!
Here is a copy of his report card from his 1st "official" day!

My 7lb 10oz baby is now a "Toddler"

Happy Fathers Day

To: Daddy
From: Carterbear
Footprints
"Walk a little slower daddy," said a child so small.
"I'm following in your footsteps
& I dont want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, daddy,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
The I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you."

Happy Daddy Day<3
This is CJ's second Fathers Day, but this year was a little bit more special then last year. This year Carter could actually call him Daddy :) CJ is such a good Dad, but honestly I always knew he would be. He has always been good with kids. After all, he is a "BIG" kid himself. Carter doesnt realize it yet, but he is a lucky boy.....hes got the best dad in the world!

This morning we woke up & Carter gave daddy his Fathers day card &
hand print that he made at school! It was really cute. CJ was so happy & the Card is SO sweet. It was his little foot prints on it and a beautfiul poem inside! It made me want to cry! But then again, I cry at everything! After that, we got ready & headed over to Shamansky's for breakfast. It was CJ's treat for being such a good Dad. It was delicious as always & we had fun going out to eat just the three of us :) Once we finished breakfast, we were off to church for the Fathers Day service......
Here are some pictures from breakfast and church!

I couldnt ask for a better daddy & friend :) I will always be his little girl <3

Something old :)

Its Saturday, its raining & Carter is napping. Pretty much a lazy day :) We woke up early ate breakfast, played & played some more, haha! So, Carter was pretty tired & ready for a nap by 2:30! When he laid down, CJ & I went outside and cleaned our camper (were getting it ready for camping in 2 & 1/2 weeks) then, we came inside and ate lunch. Well, little man is still sleeping so I figured I'd get on here and post something. I am REALLY late on this but I didnt start this Blog until November so I never thought to put wedding pictures up. There are way too many to put them all on here but I found these two and thought Carter just looked so cute in them. He is 4 months old in these pictures! So here you go!!

Huge news!

Carter James Steinhauser Learned how to walk

You heard right! Carter Finally learned how to walk :*)
Just like any other day, I got home from work...hugged & kissed my little man and put him on the floor to play with his favorite trucks! Well, today was different! Carter was in the sun room with poppy, pushing his trucks back and forth while mommy was getting his dinner ready! And then something amazing happened! Carter let go of his truck and started walking like a pro towards daddy and uncle Jimmy! I screamed and started crying, lol! It was priceless :) I hurried up and grabbed the camera and started filming him walk all over! He is SO good at it & he just started. Its truley unbelievable. && what makes this whole event even more special is that Poppy got to be there to see Carter's first steps! He was so happy to see his great-grandson walk!

Bye-Bye mommy, i'm a big boy now :*)

Get to Know Us :)

A little while back there were bloggers that i follow joining in on “Get to know your author” blog. I never participated in it, but My friend Brandy wanted to do it and changed it around a little bit. Instead of just getting to know us (Brandy & I) She decided it would be more fun if you got to know our families instead. So here it goes:

Daddy Bear:

CJ is funny, adventurous, stubborn,Hard-working, always on the go, fast paced, and he is the only one I've ever loved. He is mine and Carter's entertainment. He can always make us laugh and ALWAYS puts us first.
He has proven to be a loving caring husband and for that we are so blessed. He spends his time working on his dads farm, fishing, & driving tractors...what can I say, he's a country boy!

Momma Bear:

That would be Muah ;)

If I had to describe myself, I'd say I'm a pretty laid back, go with the flow kinda girl. Don’t get me wrong though, I can be feisty when I need to be ;) I had my crazy days, but those are far behind me now. Being a mom has changed my life dramatically. It has made me worry like I never have before, it has brought out an emotional side of me that I didn't know existed, and I have now loved deeper than I ever thought capable. It has made me appreciate my husband, my family & life more & more each day. I couldn’t ask for anything more, I am a lucky girl! I love going to the beach, spending time with my boys, and being surrounded by friends and family.

Carter Bear:

We’ve called him Carter Bear ever since he was a baby because we love nothing more then giving him big hugs and cuddling with him like he's our teddy bear. Carter has big blue eyes that melt your heart when they look at you, a smile that makes you want to hand him the world, and energy to go on for days! From his looks to his personality, he is the spitting image of his daddy. He couldn’t be more like CJ if he tried. He amazes us every day at all the new things he is learning and doing. I think he's going to have a lot to offer this crazy world we live in! He is what changed us from a couple, to a family...the Steinhauser's :)

Just because

More school pictures

Okay, Here are the rest of Carter's school pictures. It took me this long to put them up because we had to decide which ones we were going to buy (Of course we bought the whole package, haha) & I kept forgetting to give pictures to grammy. She scans them in for me at her work sometimes. Anyway, here they are! This is the classroom that Carter will be leaving for good on June 19th! he is "Transitioning" right now, which means he is going to the new class a few days a week so that he can get used to it & adjust to the change. I'm sure they will miss him in the infant room :*)
Carter is all the way to the right (bottom row) & guess where Hannah is.....all the way to the left (bottom row) in her little purple shirt :)

Arent these adorable? What a little ham ;)

Movin on up...bye bye bottles & hello to NEW friends

CDC (Carter's daycare) has officially stopped giving him bottles throughout the day :( my baby is growing up so fast!! He still drinks his bedtime bottle, but we are working on that. Its just hard to believe that the little 7 lb 10 oz baby that I had last year is now considered a "Toddler"....wow! Well, almost anyway, haha! I think they are considered Toddlers after their first birthday & walking. He hasnt gotten the walking down pact yet, but I know he will soon..
ESPECIALLY since Ms. Michelle (Carters teacher) told Denise yesterday that on monday June 8th 2009, Carter will be moved into the "Toddler Room" with all 1-2 year olds :) She also said that they usually dont move kids that arent walking yet, but she feels that he once he sees the other children walking day to day, he will learn in no time. The only downside to this move is that he wont get to play with his little friend Hannah anymore! Thats right...He has a little friend! And believe it or not, yesterday he said her name!! He said it at school in front of the teachers and then he said it when he got home. Isnt that sweet? Once she is old enough to move, I'm sure they will reunite, LOL!
Anyway...thats all for now, I'll post pictures later!

Pool time :)

After we got back from my parents house on Sunday I decided to let Carter test out his new pool that we got him for his birthday! It had been sitting in the sun all day so it was nice and warm :) He LOVED it!!

What a beautiful Sunday

Sunday once Carter started feeling better, we went to my parents to visit. They got me and my brother Johnny a Cake for our birthdays and my mom cooked some yummy Cuban food!! I dont get to eat it that often anymore so it was nice :)
