Our ‘almost’ white Christmas

Well, we just missed the storm that brought over a foot of snow to New York, but I’m actually happy about it this year! After losing power last year and being stuck in over a foot of snow, which seemed like all winter long to me lol, I’m glad we only got a few inches. The only part that makes me sad is that we didn’t get it on Christmas!!

Carter didn’t really play in the first snow we had a few weeks ago.. so on Sunday afternoon after we had enough on the ground to play in, that's just what we did…play :)

Oh yeah, and scare the hundreds of geese in our back yard :)

Carter thought his SpongeBob mask would do the trick and it worked!!! After he scared them he yelled “I did it mom, now come get me!” Haha!! He was actually pretty far away, but thanks to my new zoom lens I got from the hubs for xmas, I was able to get the shots!!

Then, we scooped some snow, came in and made snow ice-cream! I stole the recipe from Mandi…I remembered her and Bailey made it last year during the blizzard. It was actually pretty tasty!

Christmas 2010

Wow, Christmas came and went so fast! This year was definitely the most fun so far! Carter is finally at the age now where he could tell us what he wanted this year and he knows who Santa is. All he’s been saying these past few weeks leading up to Christmas is how much he loves Christmas time and Santa Claus! And, anytime he would see Santa on TV, he would yell “Mommy come here, look its Santa!”

So, when we got to watch him light up on Christmas morning when he saw all the gifts under the tree, it’s a memory we’ll never forget :)

Here is part of our Christmas (in pictures) Most of his morning was caught on video, but its too long to post on here!

Christmas Eve 2010

(recap)

Every year on Christmas Eve, we celebrate by going to the 6pm service at Marbury Baptist. Well, every year since Carter’s been born, we’ve had to leave early because Carter just does not want to sit still in there. This year however, he was truly an Angel in church. He even went up front to hear the Christmas Story and sat quietly the whole time!

here he is sitting with Greg for story time :)

We even got to see our good friends, the Bagley’s, at church :) It really was a good evening and after wards, we headed home to get ready for Santa!

Carter wanted to leave the reindeer some carrots and Santa a brownie and a cookie!

Then it was off to bed… Here is my sweet sleeping boy :)

After Carter went to bed, CJ & I got busy setting up the gifts!

Meeting Madisyn!

This past Saturday, we finally got to meet this little angel!

2010_12_18_4756

She was born December 9th, so she’s only a little over a week old in these pictures! We had some family over to visit and see her as well-Michele said they’ll be back down from New York in February!

Carter was really good the whole time. Him and Makenzie played and ate. They both colored me pretty pictures :) And then, we tried to get a group shot, but its hard to get everyone looking at the same time!

2010_12_18_47572010_12_18_4758   It was so good to see them and meet Madisyn. I haven’t held a newborn in SO long that I have to admit, I was a little nervous at first! After holding her a little while, it took me back to when Carter was that little, they grow up so fast!

Kids can be blunt

I have been really slacking in blog land this week. But, there hasn’t been much going on to update on really.  With Christmas right around the corner, I’ve been searching online for last minute gifts, and tonight I’m starting to wrap what we’ve already bought :)

Tomorrow the weather is calling for snow! I’m excited, but I don’t want to get my hopes up either because we all know how the weather channel forecasts can be totally off. This weekend we don’t have any plans, probably just some last minute shopping!

Before I go, since I don’t have any pictures to share, I have a funny story to tell!

This afternoon when I got home CJ had a Calejero’s steak and cheese sub waiting for me! Anyone who’s been there knows how yummy they are :) Well, I ate half and then Carter got home so I ran up to get him! Well, we were downstairs playing on our bed and all of a sudden he goes “Mommy, what's on your chin?” I said “Nothing, what?” He said “ it smell like poop!” hahaha! I guess my breath wasn’t that fresh after eating the sub and that was his way of telling me. CJ and I could not stop laughing after he said that though. Then, Carter proceeded to call me “Stinky mommy!” over and over! Kids really do say the darndest things!

Not Much…

This week has been pretty laid back. I got my hair done on Monday after work by my good friend Sarah :) Then, last night we made a Target run, those are always fun! Now today, we are just hanging out and might go Christmas shopping later this afternoon.

I do have a funny story though…. Last night we had to run by the bank for Denise. Well, once we were pretty close CJ asked Carter “Do you know where the bank is?” and Carter goes “yeah I fink so! We gettin close!” Let me just tell you, this boy has an amazing memory! He surprises me everyday, that’s for sure :)

Okay, now I have to go wake my boy from his nap so we can get ready to hit some stores… for now, these are some pictures from earlier in the week!

Breakfast with Santa

Boy this weekend was jam-packed busy for us. Saturday morning we went to eat breakfast with Santa at church. Carter and Adriana played really well together all morning and even warmed up to Santa and sat on his lap for pictures!

Saturday night was CJ’s great Uncle Carson’s 80th Birthday party at church. The kids played, we ate, and all had a really good time. We got home around 9pm so it wasn’t too late, which was nice!

Then today was Jamie’s baby shower. I didn’t even take any pictures besides the ones I got from Breakfast on Saturday morning. But the shower was beautiful and Jamie was glowing :) Can’t wait to meet baby Eli !!!

So, onto the pictures from Saturday.. Carter looked scared when Santa first came in..

2010_12_03_4724

And didn’t want to sit on his lap at first, until Daddy convinced him it was okay :)

I think Carter is at the age now where he looks up to his Daddy so much. He wants to be with him at all times, and will usually do whatever CJ says because he is trying to impress him. Its the cutest thing in the world and to see them bond everyday just puts a smile on my face :)
