Weekend Recap
Hmm, lets see, where to begin? I’m exhausted, for starter’s! It hasn’t been a very pleasant last few days unfortunately. Thursday night after CJ & I got home from his game, Denise told me that she could hear Carter tossing and turning (& whining) over the monitor for a while. So, I went in and checked on him and he just seemed uncomfortable. He was congested and his temperature was 99.7 and although that’s not a fever, its still higher than his normal temp. I would know, I’m anal when it comes to taking temperatures!
The next day, Carter stayed home with Grammy. She took the day off because some cousin’s from FL. were coming to visit. I am glad it worked out that way because Carter’s temperature ended up going up to almost 101 and his throat swelled up like a balloon.
By the time I got home from work, I could tell he was miserable so I decided to take him to Pediatric After Hours. The DR. there told me it was a virus, but I had a feeling it was something more and left there feeling uneasy with his diagnosis. I ended up taking him to his regular DR. the next morning because I wanted to get a second opinion. The Dr. at PAH told me he heard a heart murmur, so I wanted to get that checked as well.
Dr. Sait saw Carter and reassured me there was no heart murmur and he also confirmed what I thought Carter had…Tonsillitis. He had the same thing last year, on the same weekend! Isn’t that crazy? He wrote us a prescription for Amoxicillin and said Carter should start feeling better by Monday!
Well, today is Monday and he does seem to be feeling a little better. So far, no fever this morning and his throat looks less swollen!! Last night was the first night we all actually got a good, well rested sleep! Carter slept in until 7:30 this morning, Thank God…we needed the sleep ;) And, he woke up cheerful and even said “I feel betta” So we’ll see.
Okay, I think that sums it up! Here are some pictures from the weekend. I didn’t take many, but here they are…
I tried to get a good picture of his throat, but this is all I could get. If you look at the left side you can see how its red and swollen…. This pic definitely doesn't show how bad it really was though.
“working”
Here, he said “I talkin to Tojo”
Finally starting to feel better…eating french toast sticks for breakfast

Our Week So Far
Phew, its been a pretty busy one so I’m glad its Friday tomorrow…even though the weekend is looking pretty busy too ;)
Monday afternoon, we went to visit some good friends… Ashley, Ryan, & Adriana. Carter & her had alot of fun playing that day. They seem pretty comfortable around each other now. No more shyness going on! Carter calls her “Arinana” and she calls him “Car- ra” sounds like Carl actually, ha!!
Here are the happy kids playing….
He loved her toddler bed! Guess he is ready to be put in one too :)
She was tucking him in!! He didn’t want to leave… He even gave her a kiss on the lips. I got it on video, but its 8 minutes long and I know One True Media will take FOREVER to upload it! It was very cute though :)
As for the rest of our week? Well, Tuesday we spent time at home and Wednesday we went shopping after work & daycare. We had to run to Food Lion, Walmart, & the Mall :) We ate Sbarro’s pizza for dinner and then came home and went to bed! Tonight, CJ has a softball game and I think I might tag-along. Its the second to the last game so it’s kind of a big deal to them. Tomorrow is Friday & I am so ready for the weekend, yay!

Father’s Day Weekend
Boy, was it a HOT one too! We spent our weekend at home with CJ’s side of the family on Saturday and today we went to my parents house after church.
Service began at 11am so on the way, we stopped at McDonald’s for breakfast. Anyone who knows CJ knows how much he LOVES McDonald’s. He would eat it every day for breakfast, lunch, & dinner if he could!!! I, on the other hand, do NOT like it that much. I have to be in the mood for it and I guess today was one of those days. Carter is starting to point and shout “McDonal’s” when he sees it in the car, lol! And when CJ told him this morning that we were going there for breakfast, gosh was he excited!! He ate sausage, pancakes, and eggs. He is definitely a mini CJ, that's for sure, ha!
Carter was very good in the nursery during service and I even brought him out early to hear the singing and he was still a good boy! Usually that is not the case, lol, that’s why I’m bragging about it! Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures today…all of my pictures are from yesterday-I know, I suck! When I am ever gonna learn? Oh well….
Here is our weekend in pictures (what I got anyway!)
Just because I thought it was pretty :)

New Things & Updates
Yesterday was Carter’s follow-up visit with the ENT, Dr. Daidone in Calvert. I left work early to pick up CJ and meet ‘Gammy’ in La Plata to grab Carter. We made really good time, in fact, we were about an hour early for the appt! So, we decided to go to Applebee’s to eat and kill time. Plus, we were all starving and ready for some good food!
Carter had got mac n’ cheese (his new favorite!) and CJ got his usual steak, while I tried one of there new entree’s. It was really good and Carter did really well in the restaurant. He did act up here and there, but we got a booth and decided to let him sit in it without a highchair. He loved the freedom, but did keep standing up against our orders, lol! Oh well, he had fun!
We got to the appt. right on time and were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Dr. Daidone said his tubes look great, ears are perfect, and she was very pleased with how well he’s done with them. No ear infections since he got them in 7 months ago (knocking on wood as I write this ha!).
Carter was very well behaved in the office. He did poop right before we were called and it seems like that has happened EVERY time we’ve gone there, haha! When I changed his diaper, it looked like someone poured green paint in it. It was literally as green as the grass!! Denise called daycare while we were at the appt. and they said that the children were playing with paint that afternoon and that he may have swallowed some. However, as horrifying as that sounds, they reassured her that all of there products are non-toxic just in case things like this happen! Gosh, the things kids get into…they can drive you nuts! Oh, and the next poop was normal, by the way lol!! Thank God it only happened once.
Anyway, we left the appt. all smiles and ready to get home!
When we got home, Carter had a big surprise!!!! His Sandbox was filled and ready to be enjoyed!
I ran in and got some of his sand toys….
His little toes in the sand : )
He loves posing for the timer!
Its not 100% done yet, but CJ, Carl, & Uncle Mike were working on it today and they will continue to work more tomorrow to finish it up! Tonight they got the slide done and Carter had a blast going down it :) I can’t wait till its finished so we can have play-dates….. I’m excited!
