My little brother and sister had a performance back in April for the drum band they are in at school. Me and the kids went and had alot of fun watching them play. It was only about 30 minutes total, but here are the pic’s from that day!

Callie thought it would be funny to scratch the heck out of me the night before… she actually drew blood!!! So, yeah that's why I look beaten… and I also was getting over the stomach flu from two days prior (hence the tired eyes!)

This Mother’s Day I felt so blessed. I have two healthy children, a wonderful husband, and an amazing family to be thankful for :)

The Simple Things…

Life moves so quickly that often times I feel like we take the simple moments for granted. The day to day happenings that we can’t get back, but so desperately wish we could. We all stop every now and then and reflect back on a random Wednesday night or a Sunday afternoon filled with laughs…. just simple memories. Those are the best though, aren't they?

 

These are just some random pictures, from a random day during the week (April 17th-the day the rocket flew over DC!) when Callie stayed home from school due to a cold. Her and I spent the day hanging out at home..with Grandad. I soaked up every minute of this day because it took me right back to my maternity days off with her! And even though she was getting over a cold…. we enjoyed our day together :) I think Grandad was pretty happy to have us around too ;)

 

I am a lucky momma. They let me snap away with my big bulky camera and don’t give me any grief for it. Well, I take that back…Carter has started to not want any pictures taken. He is too busy for me now…. with all his ‘work’ he does around the house and being ‘all grown up!” as he would say. He makes me laugh with all his ideas and imagination.

 

While I’m on the topic of Carter, I have to tell some funny ramblings before I forget.

 

Carter: Hey mom, when is Bon Jovi coming to town?

Me: Haha, oh so you like Bon Jovi huh? I don’t know when he is coming to town, but we can find out.

Carter: Yeah I like him and I want to go see him when he comes to town!”

 

Carter: Hey mommy, God is everywhere, right?”

Me: Yup, that's right, he is everywhere!”

Carter: So, is God in the toilet? (As he is peeing in it!)

Me: (laughing) No, God is not in the toilet buddy. That’s a nasty place, God isn’t in there!”

Carter: But you said God is EVERYWHERE! Is he in the shower curtain? Is he in the tub?” (Now he is giggling!")

Me: (trying NOT to laugh and thinking to myself, what a little smartass!) No silly, God IS everywhere, but not in those places….now lets brush your teeth!”

All I could think of to do was change the subject because I couldn't think of a good comeback to that one!

9 Months Old

 

This month has been full of surprise so far! Callie is officially a crawler and getting into everything. If she sees something she wants, she is after it.

Thankfully, Carter is very patient with her so far. He never yells at her or gets rough. Usually if she is getting into a toy he doesn’t want her to play with or one that he thinks is dangerous for her, he tells her “No, no Callie!” and simply takes it away :)

Her favorite things to do are crawl, pull to stand, dance to music, and watch herself in the mirror. She also loves watching Carter run around and act silly, her blanket, and her binki!

When it comes to sleeping, we are still working on it….. will this baby ever sleep for me?! She is drinking 6 ounce bottles every 3-4 hours, eating stage 2 and 3 foods and some table foods, and drinking from a sippy cup. She wears mostly 9 to 12 month clothing and some 12 to 18 month. And, she is barely fitting into her size 3 diapers, so as soon as the ones we have run out, we are moving on up to size 4.

She finally started saying Mama :) She also says Da-da, and waves bye bye! 

Things are happening with her so quickly now… I feel like its something new everyday. I am loving every second of it though and we all can’t wait to see what happens next :)

Random Carter Funnie's!

(This conversation happened on the way to school earlier this week. It was raining pretty hard out!)

Carter: Grammy!  Do you know who is making this thunderstorm?Grammy:  God.
Carter:  No its me!Grammy: You can't make this thunderstorm only God.Carter: It's Me!  I am Thor and I control the weather I have the power to make thunder and lightning!Grammy: Ok Thor then how about making it stop so we don't get all wet when we get to school.Carter:  Um, I also have a helper and HE has to make it stop.Grammy:  (I am thinking that was pretty clever come back) OH, the helper is causing it well how about sending a message to the helper to knock it off!Carter:  OK, I told the helper to knock it off but I don't know if he has his listening ears on.
By the time they got to school, the rain had let up ... And Denise just thought it was too funny not to share.
