For Grandad

 

For all of you that know Carl, you know that he will be going into George Washington Hospital in D.C on Tuesday, the 19th for his transplant. He will be gone for about a month, maybe a little less. Anyway, Denise thought it would be nice for us to get some photo’s of the farm and family to put in an album for him to look at while he’s away.

 

 

The mind is a powerful thing! We think that looking at these pictures will help keep him in a positive mindset, knowing what he will be coming home to :)      

Unfortunately, this little guy won’t be able to visit, but there will be big hugs waiting for Grandad when he gets home!        Now this picture cracks me up! Jimmy and his kissy face lol

Karen’s Housewarming Party & More

Let me start with the ‘More’ part of this post, first! I have the habit of saving my posts as drafts and then forgetting about them-what can I say! I have posted everything that I’ve drafted, just not right on time ;)

Well, this is another one of those times except instead of posting and setting the date for the day these pictures taken, I decided just to post them all together!

A couple Sunday’s ago, when it was raining, Carter and I made a ‘fort’ together! We do this alot, but I’ve never thought twice about taking pictures of it. After I took these I thought, “what the heck is wrong with you? why haven’t you taken a picture of this yet!!?!”

And here are some pictures of my boy in front of the pumpkin in our yard!!! These were taken last week.

 Okay, now we are finally caught up! Saturday afternoon was Karen’s housewarming party. We got there about 30 minutes late because we got caught up searching for a Halloween Costume, but stayed for a good bit before heading home. Carter and I decorated a pumpkin from Karen’s garden…

He chatted up a storm with Gracie and everyone else at the party! He even sang “American The Beautiful” THREE times in front of everyone :) I was SO proud of him for doing that. He tends to get shy and clam up in front of others when put on the spot like that, but not today!!! Everyone was very impressed and he couldn’t get enough of the clapping and cheering. Random pictures…

 

This is one of those “Oops, I forgot!” moments! I think us mom’s have plenty of those though ;)

I just realized last night while I was going through some photo’s that I never posted these! They’re just some outdoor pictures from a couple weekends ago, but I still wanted to post them. Plus, its not everyday that me and my boy get pictures together. I’m usually the one behind the lens so its nice when its the other way around :)

 This is a “blooper” but CJ told me I had to put it up, he thinks my face is hilarious!!

I guess it is pretty funny :)

Today, we are going to look for Halloween costumes and then head over to Karen’s housewarming party! Carter and I looked in Target last night and couldn’t find any costumes we liked. I have a few other places in mind, so I’m hoping to have better luck today!

Another lovely dinner with some of my favorite people :) We missed you momma’s that couldn’t make it this time! Had so much fun with you ladies tonight….hope to do it again soon!

Bye-Bye Binki

We will miss you because even though this is a positive change, SO many memories of my sweet baby are with you!

This Binki was my savior during Carter’s Colic stage and it also helped me through countless nights of 2am lullaby’s…

It helped us in the car rides and doctor visits! It helped us during Carter’s first time being put to sleep…during two blizzard’s and sick days….  and SO much more! But, now its time to say good bye to my blue friend!  My baby isn’t a baby anymore! He’s growing everyday, turning into a bright young man before our very eyes :)  

I know that probably sounded a little sappy…saying “Good Bye” to a material thing like that! I actually think it was alot harder for me to let go of this Binki than it was for Carter. I mean, its been a part of our lives for the last two years…so I thought this was a big deal ;)

Okay, let me get on with the update, ha! Last weekend while CJ and I were in NC, Carter spent 1 whole day and night with out his Binki. He did great, but of course as soon as we got home and he saw me, he asked for it! He associates me with it because I have always given it to him. Well, after I realized that he could go with out it for so long, I decided it was time to finally go for it. Monday afternoon before Carter got home from daycare, I cut the tip off of it. I left it in his crib so that we could “stumble” upon it and see that some how it “broke”!

Well, when Carter got home that day he immediately asked me for it. Once we got downstairs, he went in his room to find it. When we found it in his crib and saw it, he looked shocked, poor thing! I just said “Oh no, Binki must have broke!” and he said “now you have to get me a new binki!” LOL! Little Stinker! I just explained to him that sometimes when things get old, they brake and that he could still have it, just not suck on it. He tried to keep it in his mouth that first day, but it just kept falling out and eventually he got frustrated and stopped trying.

Since that day, he has not attempted to put Binki in his mouth, he keeps it in his bed, but does not ask for it hardly ever! I felt so bad cutting it when I did, but after alot of thinking I realized that these are just growing pains….and that I better toughen up because this is easy compared to what I am facing as he gets older, LOL! 

Now, just for fun….lets go back in time and remember the good ole’ days with Binki….. Gone but never forgotten, ha!

Our Sunday!!

I hate the fact that we have work tomorrow, but I do love my Sundays :)

Carter, CJ, Denise, and I all headed to Sunday School this morning bright and early! Carl wasn’t feeling well so he stayed home…& if everyone could just keep him in your prayers, we’d appreciate it! He’s been having it rough lately!

Church was good, we didn’t stay for service, just Sunday School….but it was very interesting! I’m sure we’ll go back next week, today was our first time attending (CJ & I, that is). Carter did very good in his Sunday School too :) He didn’t even cry when I said bye to him this time so I was very proud of him!

After church, we went to lunch at Panera…mmm I love that place! It was SO good and I actually tried something new, which is not like me! I usually stick with what I know in restaurants! After lunch, we came home and Carter took a nap and so did mommy ;) Afternoon naps are the best!!!

Now we are watching the game and eating Pizza Hut! I hope the Redskins win this one, but we’ll see!

A BIG Update!!

 

This post is going to be pretty long because I have alot to catch up on!

The whole month of September, CJ and I had been talking about going out of town for our 2 year anniversary. Originally we thought about going to Ocean City. However, after calling around for a hotel all morning (on Friday) and finding out that every where was booked, we decided to go to Nags Head, NC. The Marsh family was also on vacation down there, so we got to meet up with them Friday night, then Saturday we had to ourselves :)

We should have planned it a little better, but neither one of us thought OC would be packed at the end of September! Regardless, we had fun and I’m glad we went!

CJ said I had to get a picture of this car…it was parked at our hotel. I have never seen such a weird looking car, ha!

Saturday, CJ and I went outlet shopping! We also went to a few ‘Wings’ shops since everything was 75% off and that’s where he got this awesome shirt ;)

   Believe it or not, those are the only Nags Head pictures I got. I know, I didn’t even get any beach pictures…shame on me :/

Sunday we left around 8am and started on home! We did stop in Williamsburg to check out those outlets and shopped some more! They have everything there though, so many stores…definitely worth it :)

When we got home, Carter was on the porch to greet us! Seeing him smile was the best feeling in the world, I missed him SO much. We got all of our bags inside and we showed him what we got him…. no toys which he didn’t like, but some cute clothes :)

After that,we pretty much just relaxed the rest of the day..we got home pretty early (2pm) so we got to watch the game and just hang out before bed time!

 Last week was fairly quiet! Not really a whole lot went on…LOTS of rain and time spent inside, for the most part. We did go out to Wal-Mart on Wednesday to get our oil changed and Carter managed to grasp about half the stores attention with this…..

It was too funny, everyone thought it was adorable that he was wearing it! We ended up buying it for him because he loved it so much :) haha!!

Okay, phew…. I think I covered everything so far! Last night we just relaxed at home and we have pretty much done the same all day today as well! Okay, now I gotta get back to my boys :) Happy Saturday everyone!
