She’s On A Roll!

Big news…Callie rolled over from her tummy to her back Saturday (Dec. 17th)!!! And since then, she has been rolling non stop :) Every time I put her down on the floor, she rolls right over to get a toy or to get a different view of her surroundings! We are so proud of her for reaching this milestone. She is growing up so fast already and changing everyday. I have alot more to update on her and Carter, and Christmas, AND everything that’s been going on lately… update post to come soon. But for now, here is a video of Callie rolling and some pictures!

Sucking on her lip….I love the little face she makes when she does it :) She looks like a little old lady!

Carter’s 1st Trip to the Dentist

Last week (Dec. 14th) was Carter’s first dentist visit and he did great! I am so glad I switched to this dentist, he was very good with Carter and I really like him. My mom goes to him and takes the kids there too, so she gave me a good reference!

Before our visit, I took Carter to Target to walk around because we had some time to kill. Plus, I wanted to talk to him about the visit and reassure him that everything would be fine. Well, since he promised to be a good boy, I bought him some new PJ’s to wear when we got home that night. He kept to his word and was excellent the whole time. He even made some friends in the waiting room and played very nicely.

Once we got back there, the doctor counted his teeth (he has 20!) and checked for cavities- all clear :) Then it was time for the cleaning…. and this part didn’t go as planned! Carter got a little “nervous” at this part and the doctor decided instead of forcing him to do it, we will wait until next time. That way we don’t scare him into never wanting to come back, which I agreed 100% and I’m glad Dr. Vass was so patient! He really is such a sweet man. Anyway, Carter got to pick a prize from the treasure chest and next time we go mommy will get a cleaning first to show him its not scary, then it will be his turn. Hopefully it works out :) Regardless, I am so proud of him for how good he was ….I can see how much he has grown into such a big boy now.

Here are some cell phone pictures.. I didn’t bring my big camera in there!

On a side note, I have a funny story from tonight. Carter, Callie, and I were in the bathroom doing our nightly routine of brushing teeth and going potty before bed. Well, we have well water and when you first turn the sink on, it stinks! Anyone who also has well water knows the smell I am talking about, lol. Well, when I first turned the sink on, Carter said “Ew, who farted?” I laughed and said “nobody farted, its the sink…the water smells funny when you first turn it on, but it will go away in a minute!” Then Carter says “Well, why did the sink fart?” I just laughed and called him silly. The things he says now a days really have us all cracking up around here! He is something else ;)

Pictures Post!

Here are some pictures from last weekend and this week!

Last Saturday we went to Breakfast with Santa at Marbury Baptist Church. The kids had a great time playing with the other kids and seeing Santa! Brandy, Ryder, and Maisy came with us so Carter had alot of fun. Also, we saw Adriana there and Carter had fun seeing her too, its been awhile since they’ve played, so it was good!

Carter made me get in the picture…he was a little nervous about sitting on Santa’s lap!

Sunday our good friends the Marsh’s came over so I could take some pictures of them for their Christmas Card this year! It was a last minute thing, but I am so glad I was able to do it :) We always have fun hanging out with them and I love photography, so it was a good day!

Wednesday night, a random picture of Carter by our tree downstairs! I was trying to get a good exposure in Manual Mode on my camera….I’m trying to learn more about it and all the different settings.

Also Wednesday night, we tried Callie on rice cereal for the first time! We had fun with it, even though I don’t think Callie liked it very much….

Her face lol…and the scratch on her cheek is from her nails! I trimmed them right after she scratched herself though..

4 Months Old & Doctor Appointments

Callie turned 4 months old on Monday (Dec. 5th) and we also had her well baby visit that day….& a sick visit for Carter. He started feeling bad Sunday afternoon and came down with a slight fever & scratchy throat! So, I asked if he could be seen with Callie at her appointment. Denise met me there to help out and Thank God for her because it would have been hard if I was alone. Especially because I knew they would do a throat culture on Carter and he HATES those, so the extra hand was great!

Anyway, Carter’s test came back positive immediately for Strep :( But, I had a feeling it would…he just got over Strep over Thanksgiving and I just had this gut feeling that maybe it never went completely away! Good thing I took him and now he is on a different antibiotic, which hopefully kicks it for good this time! I was told before that he could be a carrier…and I really don’t want to get his tonsils removed if we don’t have to, but if he keeps getting throat infections, we just might have to! At least we have a good ENT, Dr. Daidone is wonderful and we love her, so if it does have to happen, I know he will be in good hands.

Now onto Callie :)

They actually did a throat culture on her too, just to be on the safe side before giving her any vaccines! Thank God that came back negative…a 4 month old with Strep would be horrible! Dr. Mena checked her out and said she is developing wonderfully! She said her head control is great and she said we can start her on cereal anytime now.

Her stats are:

13.6 lbs, 24 inches long, and head circumference is 17 inches! She is in the 50th % for all three :) So, she is growing right on target!

She got two shots..and one oral vaccine, the Rotavirus.

Since I am updating late on this…I will update on her since the shots and Carter since then too. Carter is fine! The medicine seems to have worked almost over night. However, it did last time too, so we will have to keep an eye on him. Callie got a fever that night of 101.6 which had me a little nervous! I gave her Tylenol and got it down to 100.5 and for the next day and a half it pretty much stayed like that…between 100.5 and 101! That’s one thing I hate about shots, the fevers…. they make me so nervous. But, she is fine now and being her normal self :)

Now, onto her development!

This month she finally rolled over, from tummy to back, twice! Carter and I saw her do it, but she hasn’t done it again since!

She loves grabbing at her toys and chewing on them…and her hands! She drools ALOT, so I don’t know if she is teething yet, but it sure seems like it.

She loves watching her big brother and I catch her just staring at him and smiling all the time. It melts my heart to see her look at him so lovingly already and also how sweet and caring Carter is to her. If she gets hurt or cries, he is right there, making sure she is ok! The other day I accidently clipped her skin when trying to trim her nails and he was so worried about her and told me to get her a band aid ;)

She is still wearing 3-6 month clothes for the most part! She can squeeze into some of her old 3 month onesies, but she is really stretching them, lol.

She is still wearing size 2 diapers and drinking about 4-5 ounces a feeding. I started her on cereal yesterday, but she didn’t seem to like it too much! I think it will be a slow transition!

She coo’s and babbles all the time and loves walking around looking at things, especially the Christmas tree and all the lights.

No sleeping through the night yet, but I have gotten pretty used to it now! Some nights she only wakes up once, and those are the good nights! Others, its 2 and 3 times still. ONE day…soon I hope, fingers crossed ;)

Over all she is doing great. Daycare is going great and she loves her teacher Miss Mary best (FYI she was CJ’s teacher as a baby!) We just love her SO much and enjoy watching her grow and change every week! She completes us as a family in every way…. we are blessed to have two beautiful, healthy, happy children!

Pictures to come soon!!! Our computer is acting stupid, that’s why I can’t post them tonight :/

Christmas Time!

We started & finished our decorating the Saturday after Thanksgiving, one day late from our usual start date! But this year, I worked the day after Turkey Day, when I usually have that day off. I need the leave since I was out for so long on Maternity leave and Grammy graciously offered to babysit so I could go in. Hence, why we started late…the kids don’t allow for too much down time ;)

Anyway, our decoration are up! The whole house is full of Christmas spirit and we couldn’t be more excited for Santa! I enjoy all the days leading up to Christmas morning almost as much as the actual day. All the lights, gathering’s, shopping, etc…I love it all! I mean, they don’t call it the season of JOY & LOVE for nothing, right?!

Like I said in the beginning of the post, we started decorating last Saturday and finished everything up! Carter helped fluff the tree and put up the lights and ornaments. He really had a good time this year with it and was actually a great help! He is getting so big :)

Our tree!!!! Well, minus the star! Carter broke it on accident, but we’ll get a new one!

I’ll get a better picture of the tree later. This one doesn't do it justice! It is so beautiful in the sun room with all the window’s around and the wood floor…the lights really shine :)

Let the countdown begin! Yay!

Home Movie

As I said in my previous post, Callie finally rolled over for the first time on Monday! This video is just of her talking that day….I wasn’t lucky enough to actually catch her on video rolling! Hopefully I will be able to soon :) Anyway, I just wanted to share this video because I LOVE her voice so much. It is so sweet to me and I just can’t get enough of her baby talk! Tonight, she started making this really cute pouty lip when she talks and its beyond cute. She loves to talk to her ‘baby’ bear and love bite on her! I will get a video of it up soon because it is yet another totally adorable moment that can’t be missed!
But for now, we have this precious home movie to enjoy!

She Rolled Over!

Callie rolled over yesterday for the first time ever! It was from her tummy to her back, which I think is a little easier than from back to tummy, but we are still so very proud of her :) Carter and I were in her room with her when she totally surprised us and did it, TWICE!

I still have so much more to update on from this month…. pictures and video to come soon! But I just wanted to post this good news asap! So officially, our girl rolled over for the first time one week before her 4 month birthday :)

Mama-parazzi!

Like the title? My lovely husband came up with that nickname for me. Since I am always taking pictures, I think it suits me well ; )

Here are some photo’s of my beautiful babies from last weekend. I had a mini photo-shoot in our backyard and actually got lucky enough to get some really good shots of them. Good weather + happy kids = great pictures!

Months 1, 2, and 3!

I know that I haven't even done ONE post on Callie's age and development (Bad momma!) But I am going to attempt to do one big update on her development so far, including a 3 month post! Here it goes:

Month 1:

During the first couple weeks our girl was pretty "by the book", eating every 2 to 3 hours. And sleeping most of the time. By the 3rd week, just as every website and doctor will tell you, if your baby is going to have colic...usually it will be present by then. Sure enough, Callie started to cry A LOT at this age.

At 1 month our girl was eating every 2 to 3 hours during the day and night.

Sleeps pretty good at night, only waking to eat. Although, I did have one BAD night where little miss decided to wake up and cry off and on from 1am until about 4am. That was a hard night!

We took her to the doctor to get some advice about her crying and she was put on Zantac for Acid Reflux. Which, did not help the crying, but did help with the feedings and spitting up!

Wears NB clothes and diapers :) She is a tiny little thing

Loves to be held and snuggled

Has amazing head control and loves to look at her surroundings.

Here is our 1 month old baby girl…..

2011_09_09_5889

Two Months Old:

At two months old we were still having a hard time with her Colic. It wouldn't be everyday at the same time, some days she was great. Others, she would get all worked up (this could happen at any time!) and once she did, it was hard to calm her down! I started her on Soy Formula thinking it might help, but I soon realized that was a mistake. I took her off of Soy and switched her to Gentlease.

At 2 months old our girl is:

Still fitting in some NB outfits, but can also wear some of her 0-3 month clothes now. Depends on the brand.

Wears size 1 diapers

Drinks 4 ounces every 3 hours during the day, but can go longer at night. She went 6 hours this month without eating, but still didn't sleep through the night. She woke up and as soon as I would pick her up, she would go right back to sleep!

We've started a bed time routine now. Usually Callie goes to bed at the same time as Carter...sometimes a little before, sometimes a little after. She still wakes up several times throughout the night, but she is in her crib so we're making progress!

She smiles a lot now! She started smiling at 7 weeks and now does it all the time.

She loves taking baths, and being held...she is definitely a snuggler :)

2011_10_07_59942011_10_13_6002

Three Months old:

Wow, a lot has happened over the last 4 weeks. Let me get to it!

On top of showing us that beautiful gummy grin of hers, our girl has started to talk! She loves to 'coo' and can get pretty loud doing it! it's the sweetest sound, I love her little voice :)

I am also happy to say that her crying jags have pretty much come to an end! She still gets fussy, but what baby doesn't? Usually we can calm her down now...if she gets upset, its either because she is tired, hungry, wet, has gas (which she does still have it bad, unfortunately!) or just wants to be held. The good part is that when she does have gas, usually I can calm her down by doing leg exercises and helping her relieve some of it!

She is wearing 3 month and some 3-6 month clothes now! Pants are still smaller sizes though, my girls legs are still little! She has a pair of NB jeans she still wears :)

She is still in size 1 diaper, but only because I am waiting for them to run out, then she will be in size two! She is squeezed into a size one, so I know it's time to move up!

She has lost a lot of her hair on top. With it just naturally falling out and then me trying to get rid of the cradle cap, she looks pretty bare on top, but she's still cute. We just put her in a lot of hats to keep her head warm in this chilly weather.

She started at daycare full time this month and I went back to work! So far, she is doing ok. I call and check on her every day, a few times a day, lol. I know I probably drive those ladies crazy, but oh well.

She is still on a pretty good/consistent bedtime routine. Going down every night around 7 or 8. No sleeping through the night yet, but I pray every day that she does soon, lol!

She loves to watch Carter and all his silliness. He likes to call her by her nickname, which he made up, Callie-Cal.

She is drooling A LOT and loves to chew on her hands now! She even blows bubbles sometimes... :)

We love her so much and everyday is new and fun with her around. Here is our big girl at 3 months!

Callie-3months

And I can’t forget to mention just how awesome of a big brother Carter is being! He is so sweet and gentle with his little sis :) Everyday he impresses me more and more with his caring and loving ways!
