Catching up…

Well, there really hasn’t been much going on around here in the last week since I’ve blogged. We’ve just been hanging out at home mostly…apart from our occasional Target trips ;)

Let me just start off with last weekend. Saturday, Carter & I met up with Tara, Blake, and Kaiden to play at Laurel Springs Park. I didn’t even bring my camera and neither did Tara, but the boys had a good time – even though the place was packed! Its definitely easier on us momma’s when the park is empty. Especially since there are usually much bigger children running around, not paying attention to the little ones!

Onto Sunday… We woke up and went to breakfast at Shamansky’s, went to Lowe’s, and then the Dollar Store. We were going to attempt to get Carter’s hair trimmed so that it grows out more even, but it didn’t happen!

And Finally this week has been pretty quiet too! Monday, I picked Carter up from daycare and we got Panera for dinner :) Tuesday CJ and I ran up to the mall to get Carl’s birthday gift. Last night, we just hung around here and we did the same tonight.

** In developmental updates:  Carter has mastered  reciting the months of the year. Him and Grammy have been working on it in the car on the ride to daycare!! He does January through December with out missing a beat :) He is also counting almost to 20 now…. he tends to forget more when it comes to the teens, but we’re working on it. And as for potty training, well….. we’re still working on that too, but we’ll get there! He is strictly on Pull Up’s now, but still doesn't want to poop in the potty! That’s it for now, I think ;) I tend to forget a lot more these days, that is one part I hate about pregnancy!

15 & 16 Weeks

Last week I went to the doctor for my monthly check up and the appointment went really well! I got to hear the baby’s heart beat again and even got a date for my ‘biophysical profile’ sonogram – March 18th :) YAY! I can’t wait to find out if its another sweet boy or a precious little girl!

The doctor said she was also going to check to make sure my UTI was gone and so far, I haven’t heard from them so I’m assuming everything’s fine! I also asked when I would get my C-Section scheduled and she said not until July….I was a little disappointed because it would be cool to know already, but July will be here soon enough ;)

As for the baby and me, well nothing new has happened lately! I thought I may have felt a little flutter this morning at work, but its still hard to tell! I hope to feel her or him soon though, that was always one of my favorite parts of pregnancy! I’m still pretty tired at night and usually try to go to bed pretty early. As for cravings… well lately I’ve really been wanting this Turkey Croissant from Red Robin, mmmm it is so good! I might have to fulfill that craving soon!

I know its been over a week since I’ve blogged, but there really hasn't been that much going on besides my doctor appointment! I haven’t picked up my camera at all, except to take these pictures. Last Friday we made a Target trip – its one of Carter’s favorite places because of the toy isle! And, he knows exactly where it is – spoiled, I know!

Saturday, we had a friend’s birthday party to go to! Brandy is the only one of us to take any pictures. Carter took a while to warm up because when we first got there, he got his ring finger and pinky stuck in the door!!! He was very upset and it looked like it hurt, poor thing. After about 15 minutes he finally wanted to play and him and Ryder had a good time.

Sunday, Carter and I had a lunch date at another one of the places I’ve been craving…LEDO’S :) It was fun to have one on one time with him and afterwards we went to my parents for a little bit, then headed home! So, as you can see, its been a pretty average week… this week has been another non-eventful one! Hopefully now that its March we will start to have some nicer weather and we can get outside more!!

Skipping Rocks

The other day when the weather was nice (unlike today!) we took Carter down to the water to play! He loves skipping rocks and playing in the sand! We feel so blessed to have the beautiful Potomac right in our backyard! This summer, I know we’ll spend alot of time fishing and just enjoying the outdoors :)

  After we left the ‘beach’ we went over to Uncle Mike’s house to watch Grandad unload some dirt off the dump truck! Carter loves to watch the work trucks in action. Then, we came back inside and ate a yummy Pizza Hut dinner ;)

We had a busy weekend too, visiting friends and family. I will have to update on that later! I am 15 weeks today, but will post that update tomorrow after my Doctor’s appointment, along with my belly shot!

In my last post, I talked about how Carter scared all the geese in our yard! Well, after our Valentine’s Day dinner at Applebees, we came home and played outside for a little bit! When we saw how many geese were in our backyard (I mean thousands, literally!) Carter had to scare them :) && he was so proud afterward!!!

Hello 2nd Trimester!

I am 14 weeks today, yay! I am so glad to finally be out of the 1st trimester :) Nothing new has really changed with me yet, besides my belly really popping this past week! Everyone has noticed it now, its pretty exciting!!

( & yes I am wearing SpongeBob PJ’s lol…. thanks to my hubby who bought them for me a couple years ago!)

Next week I go for my check up and I’m pretty sure they will give me the sonogram slip, so I’m pretty anxious!!! Only about 6 more weeks and we’ll know the gender :)

PS. Happy Belated Valentine’s Day! Yesterday we celebrated by going out to eat at Applebee’s. Carter was a really good boy in the restaurant and even got a lollipop from a little girl that was sitting at a table next to us! The whole time we were there, she just kept staring at him and smiling, it was so cute! He was smiling back at her too so finally, she walked over and gave him a Tootsie Pop. I wish I could’ve gotten a picture of his face when she walked over, it was priceless!

Anyway, after that we came home and played outside for a bit before dark! Carter ended up scaring all the geese in the field and I got it on video so I will be posting that later. I’ll also be updating on his progress at daycare… I had a meeting with his teacher on Monday and it went VERY well :) So much to talk about – but its deserving of its own post!

Having friends over

Its always fun when friends stop by! Especially, when they are as cute and sweet as this little guy…

When Brandy called me Sunday morning & made plans to come over, Carter and I were more than excited! The boys haven’t been together to play since the fall blogger party we held at our house, so its been long overdue :) Beside’s that part, it was a really nice day out so we got to take them outside to release some energy…which they seemed to love! Our house is in the middle of a big field and there are really no other kids around so, Carter really loves when friends can come over to play!

        Carter is very high energy ALL THE TIME so I think Ryder was looking at him at times thinking “whoa dude, chill!” LOL But we had so much fun!  So glad you guys got to come over and hang out :) Hopefully this spring we’ll have many more to look forward to!

13 Weeks!!

A few days late, but that's alright! I finally got a picture with Carter in it too… We had the self timer so we had to hurry! Otherwise, I would have had him put his hand on my belly or something cute :)

Then, after he posed with me, he had to have one of himself and goes “let me see it momma!” after I took it!

 

This week I am just ecstatic that next week I will officially be in my second trimester! It feels like its going a little faster now and I know it will fly once we find out the gender! Hopefully the last trimester doesn’t go slow since it will be summer and burning hot out!!!

I still don't have a feeling as to what it is yet…although I do find myself saying her or she a lot when I’m talking about the baby! Still, in the back of my mind I feel like it will be another boy – not sure why but I do. If it is a girl, I will definitely be very shocked….but happy either way!

As for nausea, that is pretty much gone now..yay! I have been getting more headaches lately though and they really suck! Mostly because Tylenol doesn't really help! Also, my sinuses have been horrible lately. My nose just gets really dry and I’ll get nose bleeds in the morning. But, I still get congested and have to blow my nose every morning too…weird I know. My energy hasn’t picked up too much yet, but hopefully it will soon. And finally, I gained another pound this week, so that makes 3lbs so far! Not too bad considering I gained like 8-10lbs with Carter in the first trimester !!!

The Park & A Tummy Ache

Welp, looks like life is just going too fast for me these days! I find myself re-capping from days ago, yet again! I need to get more organized ;)

Last Sunday, CJ and I took Carter to this park right over the bridge by our house. We’d never been, but it looked nice and it was another pretty day out so we wanted to enjoy it! No matter what the temperature outside, Carter always has a blast because he usually has a lot of energy to burn off! Today was no different…he had tons of fun playing at the park!

After we left the park, we made a pit stop at Food Lion and then headed home. Once we were home, Carter started complaining of a tummy ache. I thought it was just cramps from him not pooping in two days because he was still eating so I didn't think it was nausea. Well, later on that night around 10:30 he woke up throwing up. He only threw up twice the whole night and no diarrhea, but I kept him home the next day just to be on the safe side! I guess it was just a little bug because he was fine after that. We enjoyed the day spending time together and even went for a long walk… so it was a good day even though he was sick the night before!

Visiting Baby Max!

This past Saturday, Carter and I made a date to go and visit little Max and his mommy Becca!  We had a really good time talking and holding Max. He was so sweet and did not cry once while we were there! Carter did really well too, even posing for pictures which is usually a challenge these days! He was a little confused at first because he thought Max could just be put down on the carpet to play and eat animal crackers, ha-ha! After I explained everything to him though, he seemed to understand ;) It was so funny to see the look on his face when I told him babies only drink milk for a while…..he looked at me like “are you kidding me? that's it?!” Too funny!

After this visit, I just know Carter’s going to be an awesome big brother! He even kissed my belly the other night and told the baby he loved ‘him’! ;) Definitely  a change from “Hey carter, what do you want to name your little brother or sister?!” Carter: “Nuffin!!” with a smirk on his face!
