11 Weeks!!

I am 11 weeks today and actually on time posting about it :) Since I couldn’t be seen last week, today I went for my pap appointment. It went really well and I even got to hear the baby’s heartbeat, yay!! It was amazing and so comforting to hear! I also talked with the doctor about birthing options and it looks like another C-Section is the route I am going to have to go. My doctor does not perform VBAC’s and with my history, a C-Section is the safest option. I am nervous and not looking forward to the recovery time afterwards, but I know I will get through it :) Other than that, no new change’s anywhere else and I go back for my next visit on February 23rd!

As for how I’m feeling… well that is pretty much the same. This morning was the first time I’ve dry heaved more than 2-3 times. Usually if I get sick, I’ll gag a few times or dry heave once or twice, but that’s it. I really thought I was going to puke this morning though, but Thank God I didn't. My morning sickness hasn’t been too bad to me so far and hopefully this morning was a one time thing because it was awful! Cravings this week haven’t changed much either. Mostly everything looks good to me at this point and I’m still lovin’ my tomatoes ;)

(please excuse the dirty bathroom mirror, yikes!)

As for baby # 2 and how he or she is growing….

Your Baby's now the size of a lime!
Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through it. But fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds, and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future.

Hangin out!

I feel like Winter can be so boring after Christmas is over. I mean, what else is there really to look forward to during winter besides Valentine’s Day and bitter cold weather?! I know later on this summer I’ll be complaining about how hot I am in my last trimester of pregnancy, but right now the warm weather sounds so much more appealing than 30 degrees!

SInce it’s so cold, it makes it hard to keep a two year old entertained. I mean, this kid is itching to go outside…poor guy! We play indoors all day long, but after a while, that gets old too! So, Sunday we finally had some cute company to play with :)

carter&kaiden2011

Tara, Blake, and Kaiden came down to visit and watch football. Carter and Kaiden played really well together, hardly no fighting ;) In the picture below Carter said, “Take piture of me and my buddy Kaiden!

Carter&kaiden

They both did a lot of running around and because boys are rough, an accident was bound to happen! Carter wasn't paying attention and ran smack into the door! When I told him to pose and show me his boo boo, he made this ‘Mean face’….the kid likes to make mean faces for some reason!

Carter'sbooboo2011(2)

Shortly after the accident, they left and Carter took a nice warm bath, which made him feel better, but he still kept making mad faces..silly boy!

Finally, a sweet face :)

Hopefully we can set up play dates more often because Carter had a really good time. I hope him and his little brother or sister can play good together when that day comes :)

Update!!

I feel like this past week (since last Wednesday) has just flown by. With it being so cold outside, we stay inside to play and I haven’t been snapping many pictures lately because of it. I miss the warm sunny days when Carter would get home from daycare and we’d play outside until dinner time :) Can spring hurry up, please?!

Lately Carter has also developed a nasty cough, probably because of this nasty weather! It is very mucusy but that's a good thing, dry coughs are the ones you have to worry more about! And, it doesn't sound like its getting worse yet, so I am just going to wait and see if it clears up on its own. If he still has it next week though, I will be calling the doctor.

There have been a couple new things going on with this crazy 2 & 1/2 year old! First, he’s been calling CJ and I Mom and Dad for the last week and a half. He hardly ever says Mommy anymore, which makes me sad sometimes, but I also think its so cute when he calls me Mom :)

And second,  he’s been very argumentative lately. Everything is “No'” or “I don't fink I want to!” LOL. He is very rebellious, but I guess all 2 year olds are!

Here is a few pictures of him watching TV, he ignores everyone around him when he gets into a show!

10 Weeks!

I’m a day late again ;)

10weeks1day

This week I’ve still been nauseous here and there, but mostly when I take my prenatal vitamins without eating a good meal. I also find that if I take it right after lunch during the day its alot better though. Other than that, I’m still tired, I’m still crabby from time to time, and I’m still anxious to get through this first trimester ;)

I had my Doctor’s appointment yesterday to get all my blood work done and fill out all the new paper work. I was supposed to get a pap, but they were running behind so I have to go back next Tuesday for that. I was a little annoyed that I couldn't get it over with, but I know things happen. When they weighed me, I did gain 2 lbs though!! I guess its all the triscuits with cream cheese i’ve been eating this week, ha!

Finally, this week the baby is over an inch long and will officially be considered a fetus by the end of this week :)

9 weeks (& one day!)

Happy 9 weeks to me !!

2011_01_12_4829

I didn't blog last night because I was SO tired. All I wanted to do was go to sleep after I put Carter to bed. He was actually sick last week with Strep Throat (never blogged about that either!) and then yesterday he got sent home from daycare with a fever. Well, we took him back to the doctor to be rechecked just in case the antibiotic didn't take care of the infection and as it turns out, the doctor put him on a stronger medicine called Cephalexin and it seems to be working! Thank Goodness! Dr. Daidone did say that if he got 1 more case of Strep, we should consider taking his tonsil’s out…so when we go in March we will definitely be discussing it -weighing out the pro’s and con’s.

Now onto baby #2 :)

This week I’ve been feeling a lot more morning sickness. Unfortunately, its not just in the morning! It happens throughout the day and even at night sometimes. I just get really queasy and have to eat something small. The problem is, when I feel like that…nothing appeals to me! Hopefully this passes soon.

Cravings this week have been stronger too! For some reason Tomatoes, grits, and Grapefruit have been on my mind lately! I know, pretty random huh?!  Monday CJ went to the store and got me a whole bunch of grapefruits, they are delicious!!! :) And, I’ve always loved tomatoes but Monday night I really wanted a BLT so that's what I had and it was so good! As for the grits, well I’ve liked those for a long time now, but only eat them when we go out to eat breakfast. Well, I made them myself for the first time this morning and they were oh so yummy :)

Other than the nausea and cravings, I’m still just pretty tired most days. I have been waking up a lot in the middle of the night to pee so I think that has a lot to do with it too.

I go next Tuesday for my next appointment where they’ll probably do blood work and all that good stuff. I was supposed to go yesterday, but rescheduled thinking we were going to get a nasty snow storm. I should’ve known not to trust the weather man ;)

Finally, according to Alpha Mom our baby is:

  • Is about the size of a grape, or perhaps a cocktail olive.
  • Has fingers and toes and eyelids and ears.
  • External boy and girl-parts are present, but won’t be really distinguishable for another couple weeks.

Bad Mommy!

Well, this weekend started off great. We slept in all weekend until almost 7:30 am, which is unusual for Carter. He usually wakes up by 6:30 so it was nice to get an extra hour to snooze! We played all weekend, watched movies, and spent time together at home :)

Here’s where the ‘Bad Mommy’ title comes into play… I’ve been wanting get Carter’s hair cut for a while now, but I didn't want to traumatize him (or ME) again at the salon, so I decided to take a stab at it myself!!!!!!!! BAD IDEA, I KNOW. But, he finally agreed and was sitting so still and being such a good boy that I thought, what the heck…how hard could it be?! Well, its a lot harder than it looks, I'll say that. I went way too short and had uneven parts all over-I felt so bad :(

After I was finished I tried to play it off and seem happy and excited about it. However, when he saw it in the mirror, he was VERY angry! Him being upset, made me even more upset than I was already! CJ ended up taking him to Great Clips in La Plata to get it fixed and the lady did the best she could! He was a good boy in the chair and CJ got him some movies and ice-cream for being such a trooper! Now, I guess we just have to wait until it grows back, but its definitely a lesson learned on my part! I think every kid goes through life with at least 1 bad hair cut, but at least he’s too little to really care right now!

He was pretty mad at first…

2011_01_08_4825 2011_01_08_4822

After he got back from Great Clips with Daddy. Ice Cream makes everything better ;)

2011_01_09_4828 2011_01_09_4826 2011_01_09_4827

I still cannot believe I actually did this!!!!! I guess I have to keep reminding myself that its only hair and it WILL grow back.

8 Weeks!!

My first belly shot :)

(I know its not much of a belly yet, but some days I feel super bloated after I eat and some days I don’t. I’m sure I’ll be poking out soon though)

2011_01_03_4819 These past few weeks as I’ve been reading Brandy & Nikki’s blog’s, and seeing they’re weekly belly shots, I’ve been anxious to join in on the fun!! I didn’t document my pregnancy with Carter like I will with this one because I didn't even have a blog back then. I SO wish that I had taken more belly pictures with Carter and documented more, but I am very excited to be able to do so with this baby! That way I can look back and remember this pregnancy, in case its the last one ;)

Okay, so according to Alpha Mom (a site I've grown to love thanks to other fellow preggie bloggers!) …. our baby is:

  • Is about the size of a gummy bear or kidney bean.
  • Is extremely jointy, with fingers and toes and elbows and knees that she/he can bend and wiggle.
  • Almost doesn’t have a tail anymore!

Very exciting how our baby is growing so quickly :) I haven’t had too much morning sickness yet. I’ve had some queasiness here and there through out the day, but nothing a snack or some ginger ale wont kick-Thank God! I hope not to experience any puking this time around, so lets keep our fingers crossed! Other than that, my boobs are pretty sore, but I am sleeping pretty good at night so no change there! I am definitely feeling the coffee withdraws in the morning and have been going to bed a lot earlier at night!  Overall, I’m doing pretty good though :)

Big Announcement!!

Carter is going to be a big brother!!!!!!!!!

2011_01_01_4817

That's right, baby # 2 is almost 8 weeks along now and we are SO excited! I was going to wait until my second trimester to announce the news, but I figure that we have to leave it up to God and IF anything should happen… we would be talking about it with our families and close friends anyway! We’ve known about this pregnancy for about 4 weeks now (only telling a few people) but I couldn’t wait anymore to spread the good news!!

Onto the details:

I found out I was expecting 2 days after my missed period. I had already bought the pregnancy test in plans of taking it first thing the next morning. Right away, the test read “Pregnant” and I woke CJ up to tell him. Of course, he ran upstairs and told his parents right away :)

After that, I went to the doctor and got another positive pregnancy result! They scheduled me for a sonogram right away, even though I was hesitant because it was SO early! Needless to say, I left the first sonogram disappointed and a little stressed because it was too early to see anything! A couple weeks later, I went for a second sonogram and finally got to see my little gummy bear and his or her little beating heart :) It was an awesome feeling and it brought back so many memories from when I was pregnant with Carter! Everything looked good and I officially got a due date of August 16th 2011! I still haven’t been back to the doctor after this last sonogram, but I am expecting a call sometime this week!

So, pretty exciting news for 2011, right?! Now I just need help figuring out what to rename this blog…..
